What a long way Ma-Mahajnan had traversed in one life! None knows how far the octogenaria
Mother had yet to cover, leaving her fleshly frame, to assure people realizing truth and its applications.
Ma-Mahajnan has just made possible something extremely impossible. Her stupendous creation stands for miraculous achievements, beyond common comprehension. She seems to be a genius, second to none. Being an ideal household how could she make all this possible is, without a doubt, a mystery.
Nobody knows how she became equally successful, I do repeat, in worldly life and the world of realization. She dealt with the aspects related to philosophy and science. She is superb in all her actions as regards worldly cum spiritual striving.
It is a matter of great surprise when we come to know that due to poverty she did not have any scope for formal education. Again, due to early marriage, she appeared unavoidably a housewife. Or, leaving aside all these--what should we say--a saint in the heart of hearts? It is all up to people, living at present and of the ages to come, to judge. How profound her manifestation of perfection, related to life and living, philosophy and literature was in the school of Nature!
"Unraveling of the mystery of the Universe" is of grave conce
and in that context Great Ma-Mahajnan stands matchless. There is nothing exaggerated if we say that authenticity of Ma-Mahajnan is beyond any common comprehension. Again, it has to be accepted that there are many people who understand philosophical aspects and accustomed to serious thinking. Of course, 'understanding philosophy' and 'realization of truth' is completely different.
In this endless vast universe how little is the world we live in! It is strange to think that even the Sun is one among the tiniest. Naturally the earth we belong to is practically a wee little particle.
Mysterious are the ways of providence, but we human beings, are charged with an impulse and a duty to disentangle them. Great 'Ma-Mahajnan' has contributed much unraveling many a mystery. She could speak more about them. Unfortunately it is too late. She couldn't but leave us only a few months ago.
The theme of 'Unraveling the Mystery of the universe' is not one to be easily understood by discussion. Faced with innumerable complex questions, renowned philosophers, distinguished scientists, eminent scholars and even a great ascetic will feel seriously perplexed to arrive at a firm conclusion.
It can neither be understood by reading nor explained by words how hastily she has solved all the riddles slowly by treading along the intractable path of spiritual realization. But one should be delighted to find the aspects intelligible through her scientific way of thinking and in the manner she answers all the questions put to her even in the midst of many adverse situations.
In consolidated chapters Ma-Mahajnan has set forth her special theme of philosophy on 'Real and Unreal'. To be familiar with all that comes to finding the way. By her rational discussion of subjects, she offers a sound authority for unraveling all kinds of mystery.
In the chapter 'Ghost and God' she deals with the question of seeking one's fortune. We have got to establish what exists actually. Believing both ghost and God can never be supported by logical organization.
Next, 'Discovery of the Infinite' points to far horizons. We must have clear conception about 'atman' (soul), 'Paramatman' (over-soul) and the Primordial Essence' and their relations with one another. 'The Essential Truths', 'Acceptance and Permanence of Truth' etc. again gain importance.
Thereafter, in "Discussing Wonders", she says about 'Form of Desire', she refutes things like 'Remembering one's former birth, 'Who talks of Rebirth', 'The where and how of Rebirth' and ultimately she explains about 'The Transcendent Feeling and Essential Truths' and firmly establishes the validity of 'free-will or personal initiative'.
The concluding chapter, "Universal Solution Offering Tranquility" points to fruitful harmony and ultimate realization. To know everything without a flaw amounts to gaining the most precious of treasures. Then let us spread it all out--wide open from the very beginning—starting with 'finding the way' and ending with 'supreme realization'
Actually very few people could come to know about her so long she was living with us. Unfortunately, those were a little close to her, had no other alte
ative but to misunderstand her on some occasion. Be it in her family, among her devotees or neighbors, she also had no other option but to satisfy everyone in vain.
However, 'unraveling' is not an assignment so simple. It involves a specific sense to make the complexities of something clear and understandable--to separate something out from a tangle or other mass, or become disentangled or separated out. Naturally, in the context of 'mysteries' unraveling attach great implication. However, let us delve deep into what Mother says elaborately.

About the Author
Ma-Mahajnan, a matchless spiritual genius, expressed her entire creation in a state of "Conscious Trance” which has all been stuffed with matters of highly philosophical value and related with strong literary sense. She could not attend even Primary School due to extreme poverty. Strangely, she was taught all by herself in the School of Nature. The weird and wonderful life is possibly the souse of her vast experience and profound realization. She was born on 17 July, 1928 and passed away on 22 January, 2011. Listen to what Ma-Mahajnan said once: What I tell you briefly about the early phase. Listen first about my life. I was married off at the age of thirteen. I was the second wife, my husband married for the second time and thus I came into his family. I didn’t get any chance for schooling.” You’ll perhaps weep to hear how I came as a wife, driven by utter poverty or how they packed me off. After that all at once I slowly progressed in the domain of that ‘Nothingness’-- “I’m the Mother; the Nothingness, too.”
Asokananda Prosad, Ma-Mahajnan's first disciple, is an engineer, a philosopher and a philanthropist. Being the missing son—the eldest and the first disciple of Great Ma-Mahajnan, he has had to shoulder so many burdens of Ashram and Temple. He has long been translating Works of Ma-Mahajnan, written in Bengali, into English. The Mother didn’t just put those in black and white, but simply expressed, extempore and spontaneous, in a state of “Conscious Trance” and Asokananda, along with his brothers and sisters of Ashram and Temple, got those tape-recorded. The Creative Process, How And Why It Works
Creativity is a subtle and magnificent dance between the rational and the intuitive, between the left and right parts of the brains, between technique and imagination. Both partners in this dance are absolutely necessary and are needed in equal proportion, which means that imagination is not more important than technique and visa versa. If you only live in the imagination, you will never get organized, you will never complete your story. However, if you start from the rational, linear, organizational part of the process, ( ie. Gotta have the perfect opening sentence and first paragraph...

The Happy Ending - Love Conquers All Or Thoughts On Fiction Writing After Dialoguing With My Dog
Recently, I was considering the question of peace, which doesn't happen often while writing fiction. There's all that drama, love, hate, desire, envy and so on. Peace, with any luck, comes at the end of the novel. I was considering this aimlessly as I lay with my head on Phoebe's warm flank. Phoebe, being the sensitive, intuitive creature she is, immediately tuned into my musings and suggested we consider the question of love instead, which she quite rightly observed was a precursor to true peace.
