So, you've been bitten by a neighborhood dog or perhaps somewhere outside of your neighborhood, and you're wondering whether or not you are required to hire an injury attorney San Diego. You've been injured and you're scared that you might be stuck with a hospital bill. Or perhaps you just feel that the dog's owner needs to learn a lesson. So then the question stands: What should you do? Hire a Dog bite lawyer San Diego? Is this the sensible thing to do?

Although the matter is highly regarded as opinion, the answer is quite simple.

No. You do not need to hire an Injury Attorney San Diego after being bitten by a dog under ANY circumstances. Can you? Yes, of course you can, and you may even come out a couple bucks ahead in the long run. But should you, and is it a necessary procedure? of course not.

Most dog bites are either provoked or unintentional, and in most cases, not the owner's fault at all. You wouldn't hire a San Diego Personal Injury Lawyer to bring a dog to court, would you? of course not. So then it doesn't make much sense to hire one for the owner.

The real case here is courtesy. Did the owner apologize? Was the owner even present? And was the dog merely acting out of fear rather than with vicious intent? These are all things that need to be thoroughly thought over before running to an agency like a child and tattling because you got scratched by a canine.

Also take this bit of information into the equation: Most successful dog assault cases (successful meaning people win against the dog owner) end in the dog's death. In any conceivable way possible, this is not the right way to go about dealing with the situation. The dog had no ill intent towards you. It does not "deserve" to die and I'm sure that the owner feels the same way.

A dog to most people is highly regarded as a family member. If you've been bitten by a neighbor’s dog and you are thinking of taking the issue to court instead of talking it over with your neighbors like an adult, then please consider the following: Winning the debate may end in the animal's death. This is in turn the equivalent of putting an end to the life of a well loved and respected family member. It's not the kind of guilt you want on your hands.
