During times of uncertainty in your dating life, you may often wonder what lies ahead. Is he going to be arriving in your life soon, or do you have to bear another wedding season at the singles tables catching bouquet after bouquet? In desperation, many single women consult psychics to discover their dating destiny. Some feel a sense of hope when they leave a reading, only leading to more disappointment a few months down the line to find that the dark-eyed guy with the initial “J” that she predicted never materialized. Worse, some misinterpret the information and mistakenly assume the next guy they meet is the one that “the psychic told her about.” I am not putting down psychics because there are some good ones out there. However, a better way to accurately predict your romantic life is by listening to your intuition.
I have consulted dozens of psychics during my twenties and thirties to find out when I was going to meet “the one.” I have heard it all and had so many different predictions. The very last time I used a psychic was when I was 38 years old. It had been two years since I broke my engagement and I really wanted to find my true love. This psychic was very reliable for my friends, and a prior reading I had with her turned out to be extremely accurate, so I trusted her completely. She told me that I would meet someone within six months and that I was familiar with his name. A few months later I went to my twentieth high school reunion and reconnected with my high school crush. He was still as good-looking and still very single. I transformed myself from the dorky wallflower that I was back then and was thrilled that he was interested in me. We started a quick long-distance relationship and immediately I assumed he was the guy because I was familiar with his name. Wow, I knew that psychic was good!
As the courtship progressed, I kept ignoring the signs that he was a total player. He wouldn’t call when he said he would. He would lie about why he was distant or quiet over the phone. My inner voice was warning me, but I kept shutting it out because he had to be the one the psychic told me about. Even before the last time I saw him, I had a dream that the weekend would turn out horrible. I ignored my gut and went on the trip anyway. My dream was so vivid that everything that occurred that weekend was just like the dream. My whole inner being was shouting, “wake up!” and I kept looking the other way as if I did not hear it.
Shortly after, I became a hypnotherapist and worked on my core belief system that kept attracting unavailable men. Then, I started listening to my own inner wisdom for guidance and ended up attracting my love by paying attention to the internal nudges and acting upon them. I never turned to a psychic again because I knew I was a pretty good intuitive myself.
Before you lay out hundreds of dollars on psychic predictions, I recommend the following: • Change Your Mind. Clear up anything in your subconscious that is attracting Mr. Wrong including false beliefs of being unlovable, unworthy, unattractive, etc. Do therapy, self-hypnosis, coaching or other personal development activities to clean up that past. If your inner mind is not in alignment with feeling worthy of attracting love, I can predict you will continue to repeat the same destructive dating patterns. • Clear Your Mind. Meditate or practice daily visualization or self-hypnosis. By practicing to quiet your mind on a regular basis, you can learn to be more in control of the thoughts that drive your life experience. You can become more present to what is happening around you and listen to your inner wisdom. • Access Your Power. Create a visualization place in your mind to connect with your inner wisdom. You can imagine the wise one being another you, a being of light, an angel, guide, spirit or even God. As you open your mind to deeper levels of awareness, you will discover your own psychic abilities. • Practice Predictions. Work with your inner intelligence and make small predictions. For example, you can predict what color your boss will wear that day or how many clients/customers/emails you will attract. The more you use and trust your intuition, the more it becomes available to you.
If you need guidance, good psychics can offer direction and insight but remember that the information is never 100% accurate and is channeled through THEIR filter of awareness. It is important to realize that no one could ever know you more than you already know yourself. You are a powerful, creative being filled with so much knowledge and wisdom. Allow your light to shine and show yourself the way to love.
