Leadership Evaluation: Are You A Good Leader?

As a shareholder in a company you have the opportunity to be a leader of a team. You will need a vision as well as a plan. Vision is the adrenaline of the soul; it will keep your team motivated. . Your vision statement is your long term goal for your business. The vision statement should be will written with a sense of passion. After you have completed your vision statement you should write a plan of how you are going to fulfill your vision. A vision without a plan is just a dream. The other important element to being a good leader is having a good relationship with your team. Remember leaders don’t choose their followers; followers choose their leaders.
Leaders do not need a lot of followers to be good leaders. Five followers united together can make a big impact. Invest your time and talent in those that want to succeed in business. Let go of followers who do not want to be leaders. You cannot do it all. In network marketing it is a relentless job finding new followers. Many quit because they are not making any money. Teach your followers to fish and you will have faithful followers.
There are people looking for great leaders. Make sure you know your product and company well. Also act like a leader. Here are some great characteristic of a good leader.
• Be yourself. The number of leadership styles is limitless.
• Leaders need a base of power and authority, know when to use it.
• Leaders persuade others to believe in their vision.
• Leaders set the example for the group.
• An effective leader is trust worthy.
• A true leader cares more about the success of his/her followers than their own success.
• Praise in public, but admonish in private.
• As a leader, your job is to inspire the entire group.
• Know what motivates your followers.
• Leaders lead people and manage things.
• Recognize that every problem, obstacle, or issue has a different solution.
• Leaders are teachers
• Good leaders don’t jump to conclusions
• Believe in your ability to identify the right talent.
• Gain mutual respect and trust from your followers.
• Leaders are not afraid to admit: “I was wrong” and “I don’t know.”
• Work with your team to figure out a way to create solutions.
• Each of us has potential to lead, follow or be an individual contributor.
The reward of being a great leader is a residual income. You don’t need to lead a lot of people to be a great leader; five people is enough. Continually look for new people but spend 50% of your energy teaching. In order to succeed, you absolutely must help others to succeed first. Be a good leader and teach others to promote the business plan and sell the products through your actions and writings.
