It is scientifically proved that our brain is divided into two hemispheres- left brain hemisphere and right brain hemisphere. These both hemispheres are different from each other. They differ in regards with functions and characteristics. The brain cells definitely communicate with other cells to carry out any task. The theory of left brain right brain was developed by American psychologist- Roger. W. Sperry. This concept was discovered in the year 1960. According to this theory, human brain has two distinguished way of thinking. Right brain is responsible for visual and processing information in an instinctive and synchronized way- goes through the entire visual then turns on details. Left brain controls the verbal skills and processes information in the form of analytical and chronological ways- looks at all available pieces then puts them together to form entire image.
Sperry received Nobel Prize in 1981 for his most amazing research. This left brain right brain theory also mentions that every individual is dominated by either of hemisphere. An individual can be either right brain dominant or left brain dominant. Researchers have studied about these two brain hemispheres in respect to their functions and controlling system of the body. As per as the researches, right brain dominant individuals behave and functions differently from each other.
Many theories have mentioned that people with right brain dominance is channelized mostly by intuitive and emotional thoughts, whereas people with left brain dominance take up logical and sequential way of thinking. It is the thinking process of our brain that is highly responsible for developing our personality. Your brain dominance has great impact on your academic and learning skills. They also affect grades and style of home work. For example some children might have to struggle more in respect with specific subjects or assignments. This is all due to dominance of any one brain hemisphere. Thus, it is very much essential to understand your brain dominance. It will help you to improve the weaker section of brain and strengthens your forte. This will also guide in you preparing regular schedule for study and selecting the method of working.
Many people want to understand the concept of left brain right brain. Certain characteristic are helpful in distinguishing between left brain dominant and right brain dominant. Constantly watching the clock, surprised on ringing of bell by the end of class, and excessive day dreaming are the characteristics of right brain individuals. Left brain people are more organized and analytical about incidents. They analyze the matter and act consequently. These individuals are usually very careful and follow schedules. They do not break any rules and regulations. Individuals with left brain dominance are very much strong in science and math. Their brain works amazingly in these subjects and these individuals make amazing powerful contestants.
Besides, right brain individuals are great dreamers. These people are highly intelligent and great thinkers. Mostly, these individuals are lost in their own world. They achieve great fame in subjects such as social science and arts. Left brain individuals are more careful and spontaneous. They possess great talent for creativity. Generally, these individuals follow their intuition and gut feelings.
