Liar, Liar Pants on Fire

Can you recall that little rhyme kids used to taunt others with, “Liar, Liar, pant’s on fire!”? I have no clue who came up with it, but I imagine a small child recognized someone who was lying and began singing that line to call him out on it. It is amazing that children can recognize the difference between right and wrong, and yet in today’s society, there are still very powerful figures who twist the truth to satisfy their wants. How can we expect the youth or our future to become good and upstanding citizens, when our role models are going against our very own moral fabric as a humane civilization?

We often undermine our own future when we do not lead by ethical standards. Actions speak louder than words… and when we write, speak or convey messages (through attitude, behavior or deeds), the world is watching.

Ask yourself this: What can I do to make a real difference in the world? Every time you think, speak or act, what message are you sending? When you offer something of positive significance, you instantly charge the Universal flow of energy around you. It is a powerful give and take system that ultimately helps you to be a better person and helps others to be better people, too.

To honestly create powerful momentum in your life, in the lives of those around you, and in the world around you – you must become the change you want to see. Fabricating or altering certain truths will only lead you into your own trap. Always remember that old adage: “Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we practice to deceive.” The point is that when you practice to be truthful, purposeful and kind, you build a foundation based on integrity and productivity. In doing so, you also build a foundation of trust, which not only makes you a respectable person but it also gives others the appropriate role model that they, too can strive to become.
