Lindsay Lohan Escapes Burglary Charge

Once again, Lindsay Lohan has been cleared over a burglary claim! And how did she do it this time?

It turns out that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has reportedly thrown out the case due to insufficient evidence.

Just a reminder: The Mean Girls star was reportedly named among the suspects of a theft from a private residence in Hollywood last week but, after the home owner withdraw his claim that the jewellery was stolen during a house party, investigators have decided there is insufficient evidence to bring a burglary charge against Lindsay Lohan, and they have dropped the case. Lucky her!

However, in documents obtained by the gossip site TMZ the D.A.’s officials have revealed the star was not identified as a suspect by the host of the party and “potential eyewitnesses” who claimed they could identify the suspects have refused to come forward.

And it seems that afterall none of the suspects were found in possession of the stolen property.

Lohan seemed more than happy with how things turned out that she even linked the outcome of her week-long torture on her Twitter.com account.

“Lindsay is glad this matter has been cleared up so she can focus on her upcoming projects,” her spokesma
Steve Honig said in a statement.

One of the men suspected of the thefts told police that he, Lohan and another man went into the home early Aug. 18 and some items were taken, but he refused to tell who actully stole them.

"We do not have sufficient evidence to prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt," a prosecutor wrote a memo. The document also noted that none of the missing items was found in the possession of Lohan or the two men who were believed to be at the house on the day of the burglary.

The Los Angeles police say they plan to continue with their investigation.
