Linking ourselves to the future

Recently I attended a really fantastic workshop on Time management, and I was struck by an amazing revelation. The revelation was not linked to anything that the lecturer had said, but it was what the lecturer said and what was in my head that caused the revelation to happen.
During my time as a coach and an educationalist I have had the attitude of a learner.
There are three types of learners in this world and it is my determination to be the third of the list below.
1. The learned.
2. The unlea
ed.
3. The learning.
Only the third can be linked to the current reality in terms of its usefulness.
If I have learned - Then the data I have is based on the past.
If I have not learned - Then that too is a reflection of the past.
If I am the learning then that takes place right now and is an on-going process of discovery.
I approach each situation with an open mind, and I find that when I do that my mind is a little more opened.
Many people I interact with speak of a phenomenon that I can prove is not possible, it is known as "Thinking outside of the box"
If I place within a box a crayon, a pencil, a ruler and a scissors, would it be possible to withdraw from it a bottle of orange juice? The answer is obviously no, unless I had placed it in the box before or after I had placed the rest of the items therein.
The only way to get something out of the box therefor is to first put something in.
Ok... So how do we link this all to the future?
Let us take a few of the programs that I am excited about and that I communicate on, and give each one a definition.
Time management - Linking my current reality to my desired reality.
Service Leadership - Linking our current service reality to our clients desired reality.
Assertiveness - Linking the way that I currently respond to people to the way that I desire to respond to them.
The effect of labels we wear - The power of choosing and wearing the label I desire compared to the label that has been placed upon me.
Purpose - Understanding that purpose is not discovered one day somewhere in the future, but is rather lived right now in this moment, and by living it daily we affect the circumstance, versus allowing the circumstance’s to control us. An example of this would be a broom. It has been created to sweep, its purpose is to sweep, if it never used for this purpose, it is useless, and the floor will get dustier and dustier. In exactly the same way we need to live our purpose today, or our lives will "get dustier and dustier"
So it is in linking what we do now to the future that we are truly empowered to live in success right now.
Success is about what you do now!!! It is about how you do what you do now, and it is about linking yourself to a future that you desire, but not then, now!!!
Yesterday’s tomorrow, and tomorrows yesterday, lay within this moment and will not go away.
Your action today - directly affects you past and your future, both can be affected, both count, and both are linked to what you do now.
