As Meister Eckhart said – “at the very heart of this moment is Eternity ”
It implies that what we are and what we want to be , all are a function of what we do at the present moment . Instead of allowing the mind to flit into the past or the future ,if the mind remains single mindedly focused on the present objective , it will provide peace of mind , satisfaction and an aid to self development .
Ask yourself the following questions :
What am I doing right now ? What am I learning ?
Is it adding value to myself …avoid staring out of the window like a zombie
While travelling or even standing in a queue , keep a pencil and paper handy and note down any innovative ideas , thoughts or inspiring quotes that come to your mind . Carry a small book which is readable and fills the mind with uplifting thoughts .
To quote the Holy Mother –“ It is only effort in whatever domain it may be –material effort , moral effort , intellectual effort –which creates in the being certain vibrations which enable you to get constant with universal vibrations ; and it is this which gives joy . It is effort which pulls you out of inertia ;it is effort which makes you receptive to the universal forces ….and the one thing that gives joy is the exchange of force with the universal forces . “
Thus if you are suffering from boredom or lack of energy do not become stupefied , do not seek forgetfulness ,do not go down into the inconscience , you must go to the end and find the light that is behind ,the truth ,the force and the joy ; and for that you must be strong and refuse to slide down .
