Most of us store fats in genetically pre-disposed areas. In other words we mostly gain weight in a certain place first, then the other parts of the body. That is why it is impossible to spot reduce areas of fat. The place which you want to get rid of fats the most may unfortunately be the first place to pile on fats and last to shed off those extra pounds.
The healthiest and safest way to lose weight is not by going on crash diets or sudden increase in intensity in your work outs. The body likes slow changes in terms of food and exercise.
Someone who has not exercised for years should not rush into running miles a day or working hard super hard in the weights room. Not only will the struggle to do so leave you feeling demotivated, you are also far more likely to injure yourself and set your fat loss goals back further.
Your body uses food for energy and stores any excesses as fat. This is why we exercise so that we can get rid of that excess energy because we do not want it to be stored as fats in our bodies! This means if you eat more food than your body needs for daily activities and cell maintenance, you will gain weight.
To lose weight, you need to get your body to use up these stores of fat. The most effective way to do this is to both reduce the amount of calories you consume and increase your levels of physical activity.
Introduce exercise slowly into your lifestyle because this allows your body to get to know what it going through, to reduce chances of injuries.
Studies have shown that overweight women who lose between ten to twenty pounds of fats halve their risk of developing diabetes. For men, the risk of heart problems reduces significantly.
We generally gain weight as we grow older, but people who gain more than eighteen pounds compared to their weight as when they were a 19 year old will rapidly increase their risk of health problems due to all that extra weight being processed in their body. In particular, women increase their risk of heart attack and double their risk of dying from cancer.
Such illnesses may seem far away from you now, but you should start losing those excess fats now, before you regret it in your old age!
