Although many women try to get rid of their excessive belly fat, only a handful of them actually succeed in doing so.
If you are one of those women who have not been able to do so, the following article will reveal some of the reasons why it has been so difficult for you to reduce your bulging and flabby belly.
One of the main reasons why some of the abdominal exercises that you have performed seem to fail in building up your abdominal muscles is because of something called muscle memory. When you use a particular type of exercise regularly to tone your abdominal muscles, the muscles become used to it and it soon becomes an inefficient exercise for you. To overcome this problem, you have to make use of a variety of abdominal exercises and not just limit yourself to doing one abdominal exercise. You can increase the intensity and variety of your workouts by adding the use of a stability ball!
Another very common reason for women find it difficult to lose belly fat is actually child birth. The effect of the enlarged uterus that carries the baby till the baby is born stretches the abdominal muscles which now become inelastic. These inelastic muscles become lax, resulting in the belly of the woman to protrude easily. To tone up your stomach effectively after delivery, you have to start proper abdominal exercises as soon as possible before your stomach muscles lose all their elasticity. If you can add good aerobics to abdominal workout exercises, you will be able to lose stomach fat even faster.
Another main reason causing the storage of belly fat is stress. Stress causes the release of "cortisol", which is a type of hormone that encourages the accumulation of body fat especially around the abdominal area. Thus if you want to shed belly fat, you should start being more optimistic, and taking a brighter outlook at the challenges you find in life!
Finally, the last reason you find it hard to lose your belly fat is because you probably are over-consuming high calorie foods! As long as you consume more calories than what you are burning, you will accumulate extra belly fat. It is thus imperative that you choose your foods wisely so as to avoid foods that contain lots of calories. You should also incorporate fat burning foods like eggs and lean meats into your diet.
