Everyone, at some stage in their lives, struggles with reading, learning and memory. Do you know someone who has ever struggled with learning, who has ever found it difficult to remember something, perhaps you find it difficult to concentrate, to focus your mind and pay attention? Perhaps reading is difficult, perhaps the words jump, perhaps spelling is an area that just doesn’t come easily, confidence, anxiety, stress?
Children and adults often become very anxious in a testing situation, when exams are coming, and when they have to give an account of themselves on paper. So if learning, concentration, memory, reading, writing, anxiety, lack of confidence, or stress with exams, are areas that interest you, then read on, perhaps we can help.
So, what is this FerrisWheel program? Have you ever stopped to wonder how the brain learns? Our unique and specially designed program “Learning4Life” deals with how the brain works. We have discovered that there are certain things that successful learners do, which, if you simply copy these behaviours –guess what? Yes, you’ve guesses it! You too can learn in a faster, more successful way. We can show you ‘how’ to learn. We have used our expert knowledge to help thousands of people. This program comes with the experience of over 25 years of teaching, and therapy work with children and adults who have learning challenges. You can use the benefit of our experience to gain rapid improvement in your success.
Scientists used to believe that the brain is responsible for processing over 2 million bits of information per second. Recently, that figure has been revised to 5 trillion bits of information coming into the brain every second. That is a massive amount of information and data which your brain filters every second! Most of this, thankfully, is done automatically. For instance you don’t have to think of reminding your hair to grow, or telling your body to move to-day’s lunch on to the next section of your intestine- you get the idea.
The brain learns mostly automatically too. So how do we learn how to learn? There are different areas in the brain for memory, for sounds, feelings, pictures, music; there are different areas where the brain stores information; memories, associations.
Often people who have a learning difficulty find it difficult to use the different areas of the brain. The FerrisWheel system works on clearing blockages and stimulating the different parts of the brain so that learning can take place. How do we achieve this?
Well, the Learning4Life program has special exercises which the student does initially for a period of 21 days. It takes 21 days to make a new neural connection; that means- to make a new connection in your brain, to have a new ability, to remember something, to learn how to read, to write more efficiently, and to gain confidence in how to learn. The exercises of the Learning4Life program develops the different parts of the brain. You can achieve your success by using your brain differently. This is how to use your memory in such a way that your memory gets better and better. These neural connections that you make can last forever. This is why the program is called Learning4Life.
With this program, you should see improvements from day 1. As mentioned above, it takes 21 days approximately for the brain to make a new connection. That’s just 21 days to teach you how to remember for the rest of your life. So what if you spent some time unblocking the brain, learning how to learn, learning how to remember, how to spell, how to read quickly and easily, how to learn to study well, to remember what you studied and above all, how to banish anxiety and nerves; how would that impact on self-confidence?
This improves your ability to make meaningful connections with others and to form friendships. It has a huge impact on what children pick to study, how they do an exam, and as the name suggests, we teach you how to learn, for life!
Everybody struggles with learning at some stage in their life. And everyone who has ever had a learning difficulty has their own unique set of struggles, and their own unique way of trying to work through these difficulties, trying to learn, very often failing, and experiencing lots of difficulties, struggles, and self-doubt along the way. So because everyone struggles differently with learning, there’s not a one size fits all solution, that’s why the FerrisWheel program is tailor made to your specific needs. So, how does this work?
Our eye movements are directly linked to brain activity. Even during sleep and specifically when we dream, the eyes are known to move rapidly up, down and from side to side. Because eye movements are linked to the stimulation of neural activity, eye movement exercise can help make connections stronger in the brain. Doing these exercises is like going to the gym, it gives the brain a good workout. Do the following exercise:
- Look up to your left
- Roll your eyes round in a big circle. Make sure to do as large a circle as you can
- Roll your eyes back in the opposite direction
- Repeat several times a day
This takes just a few minutes a day. At the start it may feel difficult but with practice and over time you will be able to access your memories more clearly with the help of this eye tracking exercise. Looking up helps your brain to access its memory function. We look up naturally when we try to remember something. If you practice this simple exercise daily your ability to remember things will generally improve.
So remember, regardless of your age or IQ, everyone can improve how their brain works and most importantly how to Lea
