Martial Law: The End of Freedom and a Serious Signal for Bible Believers
Legacy signals

Summary: In a calamity-prone world, we are one large disaster away from martial law. It can happen easily, due to economic failure, “natural” phenomena, or increasing lawlessness and a gun-grab.
If you Google “martial law,” the 17 million results suggest interest in what may be impending.
What happened in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina may be a preview. There was a gun-grab and if you hadn't evacuated as many did, you were not free to leave.
We may think that's all done and past, but millions believe that was just a trial run. In fact some believe that Obama could use martial law to keep the White House.
Dr. Ben Carson, a possible 2016 Republican presidential candidate, has said he believes there is a chance that the 2016 elections may not be held. Widespread anarchy gripping the country could justify Obama's announcing martial law and the suspension of some, if not all, of Americans’ constitutionally protected rights — including the right to vote and hold national elections.
Going beyond political talk, the Bible offers insights that may be helpful, though the term “martial law” is not found in Scripture.
When asked about the end of the world, Christ gave many signs like wars, famines, earthquakes and pestilence that can fit any age, The Savior said when we see an abomination to flee. Early believers understood His reference to the Roman army and in fleeing Jerusalem, they were spared the siege by Titus in 70 AD.
The implied meaning is military “standing where it ought not,” Mark 13:14. Maybe we should be asking some questions like, Do we see military “standing where it ought not”? If we don't, Maybe we should type “martial law' into YouTube to see for ourselves.
The Bible also gives us the principle of two or three witnesses, and that's not hard to find on YouTube. With churches and pastors becoming aids to oppressive government, it's time to re-think Christ's words in the context of Matt Drudge's Tweet--”Have an exit plan.”
Christ said to flee, but if we don't take early warnings, the call gets more urgent—if you are out in the field, don't even go back to get your clothes, Matthew 24:18.
A Presbyterian pastor carries a backpack fully loaded in his car so that he can be obedient to Christ. How about us? A move to the country could be the best plan. This author has had increased peace of mind in doing so.
Throughout history, God's people have sfound refuge in the wilde
ess or waste places as suggested by Revelation 12:16 where 'the earth helped the woman” (God's people). A month early is better than a day late. Failing to plan may be planning to fail. Obedience to the Savior means a better destiny than a FEMA camp as suggested by this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkSkQgnEV-Q
