The Other Side of Mary.
There is nothing wrong with extolling the virtues of Mary. The problem comes with the hierarchy keying in on just this one side of Mary. By doing this, they are totally dismissing another side of Mary, which they do not want the Laity to be aware of.
From the article, “In His Thoughts And In His Words: Francis On Women,” by Miriam Duignan, she uncovers this other side of Mary for us to see. She states, “Mary was recognized as the model for all Priesthood in the Early Church”.
The Huge Chasm of Inequality for Women in our Church
Mary, being the “model for all Priesthood in the Early Church,” she would be totally appalled at the way the Church Fathers, Theologians, and Canon Lawyers went on to vilify her fellow women priests and deacons.
After coming down from the high of Mary’s praise and then comparing that to any other women’s plight in the church is unbelievable. The loathsomely degrading and vial words used over the centuries of Church history, truly illustrate the huge chasm of inequality for women in our Church. That same inequality for either the women religious or laity, dashes any hope for them to be allowed to answer their own call to serve God, as a women priest.
In Stark Reality Nothing Has Changed
Moving ahead to our present moment in time, everything has changed for women with new evidence of women’s actual past roles in the church; although, in stark reality, nothing has changed for women with Rome’s continuation of its sedentary inaction despite the glaring fact that there is no biblical reason to prohibit women’s ordination.
The hierarchy continues to completely ignore, its own Pontifical Biblical Commissions findings back in 1976. Who are they, to ignore the truth at hand? They hardly are mirroring the Ministry of Jesus Christ, are they?
The Time for the Church to End Their Scandal of Lies and Coverup.
Now is the time for the hierarchy of our Church, once and for all, to finally end their centuries old Scandal of lies, deception, and, deceit to the Laity of their Church.
Women today are certainly not inferior to men and by what authority do you, as the Hierarchy of our Church, have the right to totally disavow Jesus’ own Scriptural Words regarding Women’s Equality in our Church today?
Where is your justification coming from? We the Laity can sadly read between the lines, this was just one more calculated move in keeping women from the Priesthood. What would Jesus say to that?
What as well would Mary say to that?
