Khortytsia became a National Natural Reserve in 1965 and is open to visitors throughout the year. Built in a Byzantine architectural style in 1901, the Annunciation Cathedral has a bell tower that’s about 80 meter tall. Potemkin stairs in Odessa One of the most famous sites in Ukraine, it is also referred to as the symbol of Odessa. Shatsky National Natural Park Another unique place that you will find in Ukraine, this one is full of sandy beaches, majestic forests and beautiful lakes. Located in this national park is Ukraine’s deepest lake called Svitiaz. It has very clear waters due to which it is also called Blue eyes of Volhynia or Blue Lake. Askania-Nova Situated in the south of Ukraine is the reserve called Askania-Nova. It includes a steppe, a zoo and a dendrological park. This reserve is protected by UNESCO. Not only does it comprise of some steppe species of wild fauna, the reserve is also home to a number of rare animals from Europe, America, Africa, Australia and Asia. Drahobrat One of the top favorites of free-riders is none other than the Drahobrat ski resort, which is one of the gems of the Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine. It has lots of wild slopes and peak heights range from approximately 1300 to 1800 meters. It is one of the highest mountainous resorts in the country. Probiy Waterfall If you want to see one of the most picturesque waterfalls in the Carpathians, you don’t have to look farther than the Probiy waterfall that falls on the Prut River. This Carpathian waterfall is one of the few accessible ones because it is located in close proximity to the city of Yaremche. High Castle Park This park sits about 1354 feet above sea level and can be found in the ancient city of Lviv. Its height means that you can get some breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Moreover, when you visit there, you can also check the remains of the High Castle, which can be traced back to 1250. Alexandria Dendropark Located in the Kiev region in the town of Bila Tserkva, the dendrological park of Alexandria is a must-see for anyone visiting Ukraine. It is a wonderful place for spending time with family as it boasts 25 reservoirs and there are more than 2,500 species of plants from Japan, China, South America and other corners of the world. Artificial Sea The largest reservoir that you can find on the Dnipro River is called the Kremenchuk Reservoir and three rivers flow into it. When the Dnipro River was blocked by its dam the Reservoir was constructed in 1959. It filled with water in about a year. The reservoir is also known as the artificial sea because of its vast size because of which the opposite side of the bank cannot be seen. Uzhhorod blooming valleys If you are visiting Ukraine in late April, you should definitely check out Uzhhorod as the streets are all covered with cherry blossoms. It was back in 1923 when decorative Japanese blossoms were from from Vienna to Uzhhorod and now they can be seen growing throughout the city.
