There is so much information about fat on the Internet as well as in fitness magazines. We are constantly told that fat is bad for our health and looks. We immediately assume that overweight people are like that due to a fat-rich diet. However, this is not necessarily the case! Soda does not contain any fats, but it is one of the greatest leading causes of obesity!
The most crucial thing to understand about fats is that there is more than one kind of fats. There are basically good fats and bad fats. Without the good fats, our health will definitely suffer.
There are lots of people talking about keeping their diets perfectly fat free, as well as to eat lean meals to reduce their weight. This is generally correct, but some people take it far too much out of context and end up misleading others as well! When you notice extra fats around your body, such as at your belly, arms or chin, it is not caused by consuming fats.
As long as you consume more calories than you are able to burn, the excess calories you take in will be converted into fats in your body. It does not matter whether these calories come from fats, proteins or carbohydrates. As long as you consume more calories than you need for your daily physical activities, you are going to gain weight and look fat.
The worst type of fats is saturated trans-fat. They consist of absolutely no nutritional value and when they are regularly consumed; your health will be put at risk. These trans-fats are usually found in processed foods. This means that they are usually found in foods such as that found in fast food restaurants. On top of making you fat, they will also increase your bad cholesterol levels, and significantly increase your risk of heart attack and stroke. Take care of your health and body by avoiding such trans-fats.
You should choose alte
ative sources of fats as they are important for the proper functioning of our bodies and body systems.
Take more monounsaturated fats instead. They are beneficial for your health when taken in moderation and are found in a huge variety of oils and foods like avocados, olive oil and most nuts.
In a nutshell, you should understand that when you are trying to understand more about fat loss, you should not take everything which is said at face value.
