Our attitude is going to determine where we go in life; it is the foundation of failure or success and also significantly affects our health and well-being.

You have most likely heard expressions such as “we can always look for the positive or the negative in any situation,” and “we can take control over a situation or let the environment control us.”

This is easily said. But how can we affect our attitude, how can we take charge of our life? Let’s find out what attitude truly is.

In the Thinking Into Results program we learn that attitude is the composite of thoughts, feelings and actions.

Our thoughts are the creative power in our conscious mind, the use of our intellectual and creative abilities. If we have positive thoughts, the idea and image are impressed on our subconscious mind and expressed as positive feelings. Our emotions are rooted in our subconscious mind.

The body is merely the instrument of the mind and we act accordingly. The majority of our actions are performed in response to our subconscious mind; we typically act long before we consciously think about it!

Think about the thoughts, feelings and actions you experience in the various areas of your life and go through each area. For example,

What are my thoughts, feelings and actions about my health?
What are my thoughts, feelings and actions about my career?
What are my thoughts, feelings and actions about my relationships?
What are my thoughts, feelings and actions about money?

Once you go through a few examples, you will realize that you can learn a lot about your thoughts or feelings when you look at your actions. It’s an eye-opening and powerful exercise allowing you to recognize what drives your results. With increased awareness you will be able to change your results and move toward your goals and dream life.
