My Ten Seconds With Gandhi

Last week I met with Gandhi. He was standing, wearing his familiar white cotton robe, his bare feet on the old cobbled pavement of a market square.
People were going about their business, occasionally greeting him politely but otherwise taking little notice of the great man in their presence.
I went up to him and asked if I might have a small amount of his time, since I knew he had so many things to do. He looked at me with a quizzical smile, slightly inclined his head and said, "You can have ten seconds,"nand put on a bowler hat.
Undeterred and feeling that I could stretch his ten seconds into at least as many minutes, I asked him what was the meaning of his work. "Human fulfillment," he replied, bare-headed once more. "What else do you want to know?"
I looked at him, taking in his kind, yet determined face, his steely resolve behind the smile, his wisdom beneath the impassive stare.
I began to stammer. "I know my work is little compared to yours," I began.
He smiled and inclined his head again in acknowledgement and I stifled a reaction at the arrogance unde
eath his display of humility. I started again. "I call my work ...." I hesitated, trying to remember; then it came to me. "I call my work Emotional Fitness and I want to touch as many people as you have. What I want to know is how to convince those in power -governments, decison-makers, corporate heads, so that they sit up and take notice."
Gandhi waved his hand dismissively. Quietly, so that I could barely hear, he said, "Don't bother to convince them. People will know." He turned his head aside and I knew the interview was over. Ten seconds.
As I made my way from the market square through the throng of people to tell my friends and family that I had spoken with Gandhi, just on the edge of waking I knew none of them would believe me, especially, as I suddenly realized, he was dead.n ......
You might be tempted to analyze my dream for me, but in our Emotional Fitness work, we don't analyze anyone else. Dreamtime is one of our EFit steps and a specific approach, so I can take a look at my own dream and make all the sense I need from it. But I did want to share this particular dream with you because it was so vivid that even now I find it hard to believe that it wasn't real. Or was it?
In peace
