Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years you’ve probably heard of a little website called Myspace. Myspace is an extremely popular website that allows you to connect with the people around you by setting up a profile, adding friends and blogging… among other things.

While almost everyone on the planet knows what a Myspace is not everyone knows the power it can have in helping you grow your business!

If you’ve heard about Myspace and you’re over the age of say… 25 you’ve probably had someone tell you that Myspace is a “young person thing”. That there’s no real opportunity for adults because the only people on Myspace are a bunch of 14 or 15 year olds…WRONG!

The truth is Myspace is for EVERYONE, and if you own your own business it’s something you should defiantly be taking advantage of!

I talk to people about Myspace a lot and I’ve heard just about every excuse in the book, however the fact of the matter is there really isn’t any GOOD reason not to be involved in the Myspace craze… especially if you have a website to promote.

Myspace excuse #1n“I wouldn’t know how to work it”

Myspace is extremely user friendly, it’s fast and easy to set up and no HTML is required for anything! There are 80 year old grandmothers on Myspace with great looking pages so trust me… you can do it too!

Myspace excuse #2n“I don’t have enough time to commit to it”

Once you’ve gotten your page set up the way you like it you can spend as little as 5 minutes a day updating your page, responding to messages and adding new friends. Of course you CAN spend more time than that. In fact a lot of people enjoy Myspace so much that they become addicted to it and want to be on it all the time! (That of course is not the best idea because there are lots of other things you could be doing to market your business online!)

If you can’t make a commitment of 30 – 40 minutes per week to help your business grow then maybe owning your own business isn’t right for you…. just a thought.

Myspace excuse #3n“I don’t think the type of people I’m looking for will be on Myspace”

There are people of every age, race, gender, occupation and location on Myspace so no matter what kind of people you’re looking for you can be sure there are plenty of them on Myspace and a lot of them could be looking for exactly what you have to offer!

Myspace excuse #4n“I won’t know what to say”

Myspace is centered around YOU…. You do know how to talk about yourself I assume? The worst thing you can do on Myspace is try to sell, sell, sell, SELL! So if you’re not great at writing a bunch of sales copy you’ll do just fine on Myspace. Your ultimate goal is to get people to go check out your website so you don’t WANT to give all the information away anyway.

Your Myspace isn’t going to take the place of your regular website… it simply leads people to your website. Bottom line, if you know how to talk about yourself, your struggles and your victories you can have a GREAT Myspace page.

Myspace excuse #5n“I already have lots of people visiting my website everyday”

If you are in MLM or own your own small business you know that the only thing better than having lot’s of prospects is having lots and LOTS of prospects. Even if you’re a great internet marketer and you’re website gets lots of hits per day you can always use more right? Of course you can, and Myspace is a great way to get more!

I hope after reading some of these common excuses you’ll understand that Myspace really is for anyone and everyone and you should absolutely become it’s newest member as soon as possible!
