We’ve all heard about how children with autism are drawn to the Apple iPad because of its portability, ease of use and innovative touch-screen technology. Now, there’s another reason for children (and parents….and teachers) to be excited about the iPad. It’s called “Injini”.

Injini is a collection of child development games that has been shown to help children with autism and other cognitive or developmental delays in the areas of social interaction, visual tracking, memory and early development of math and reading skills. Anna Johnson, who works on behalf of Project Injini, will be the featured guest this Wednesday, August 31st, on the 40th Episode of The Mother Cub Show with host Susan Lynn Perry.

One of the great things Anna mentioned is that the #1 goal the Project Injini team had in mind when developing this wonderful software was that they wanted to focus on FUN for the children playing with it. Developing useful skills in the kids was paramount, of course, but the real focus was on making the games fun, interactive and interesting for the kids. That says a lot about the company and their products.

Early testing of Injini showed impressive results, especially for children with autism, in regards to pre-writing skills, hand-eye coordination, and literacy and numeracy skills – just to name a few. The software became available to the public in mid-August through the AppleApp Store.
