New Software Helps Filmmakers Find Funds

Many struggling filmmakers have big ideas, but may find their projects postponed indefinitely while they struggle to find funds.
However, one company, Commonwealth Capital Advisors, a 10-year-old investment banking advisory firm, released a new software module, FILM Producer, which could help revolutionize the creation of film production companies, film projects and film funds.
FILM Producer is an addition to the highly acclaimed Financial Architect, a software-based system for capitalizing operating companies that simplifies equity financing for start-up and early-stage companies.

In an effort to keep film and TV productions in the U.S., Congress just increased the single-year deduction in production costs, from $15 million to $20 million, that film and TV productions may take if the costs are incurred in economically depressed areas.
