Do you have migraine headaches? If so, you’re more than 60% likely to suffer from impotence at some point in your life. The connection between migraines suffered by men to impotence has been made by a new study, and while not all physicians agree there is a link between migraines and impotence it is one that is being further explored.

In some cases of impotence, doctors will prescribe Cialis to their patients as a way to address the issue while performing other tests to determine the underlying cause of the ED. Doctors do appear to agree that headache issues have been linked to sexual dysfunction problems in women but there hasn’t been a clear cut diagnosis of the connection between them in men suffering from erectile dysfunction.

In the United States today it’s thought that more than 20 million men are impacted by erectile dysfunction and the number appears to be on the increase. In the course of the study on the connection between migraines and impotence, close to 25,000 men were in the research study and close to 6,00 of them were diagnosed with ED and of those, close to 5 percent were diagnosed as being migraine headache sufferers.
Age does seem to make a difference with the study participants as men in their 30s or older were twice as likely to have been diagnosed with migraine headaches and also be sufferers of impotence. It’s believed that the chronic pain brought on by a migraine is what leads to erectile dysfunction and in those cases Cialis is a way to address the sexual dysfunction while the doctor works with the patient to address the underlying reasons for the migraines. The pain itself is a cause for impotence as is the idea that undertaking the strenuous activity of sex can bring on a migraine episode. That back of the mind fear can lead to a man being unable to achieve and maintain an erection.

Another reason for the connection between migraines and impotence could simply be that a man who suffers migraines may be more in touch with his physician and while he’s there he could have mentioned his impotence with him. While the doctor could, and should, certainly look for a connection betwee
ED and the migraines, he will also look to other health issues arising from ED. The other health issues can include having a sedentary lifestyle, diabetes, blood pressure or other risk factors to both health and sexual health.
