oday is the final day of 2011. This evening, people everywhere will be ushering in the new year of 2012. Rather than write individual horoscopes for the day, I am sharing my take on the planetary energy that may influence today and tonight. The moon is in the cardinal fire sign of the pioneering, assertive, initiating and impatient sign of Aries. Every sign says something, and Aries says, "I am". The moon is in the perfect sign tonight for people to examine the year slipping away and to make direct "I am" affirmations (not just New year's resolutions) for the year to be.

2012 is a year that many people have been anticipating for a long time. Will time end with the end of the Mayan calendar? Are we approaching zero point? Will we ascend? Will there be a new consciousness of unity? Mixed in with all the anticipation is the fear and anxiety of the unknown. Today, the moon in Aries joins Uranus, the planet of change and instability, and together the moon and Uranus form an undecided quincunx to Satu
in Libra. We may not be able to know what the future holds - good or bad - but we can examine our own lives to see where there is room for improvement and viable new beginnings. Due to the moon, Uranus and Satu
being in signs that have to do with individuality and relationship, many of us may be examining how we relate to others and how they relate to us. Many New Year affirmations will be focused on emotions and behavior that improve or support being true to self or treating others in the same way you would expect to be treated. On the physical level, affirmations and resolutions surrounding self improvement are likely to stick, due to the Aries energy, which likes to ordain and direct. What Aries ordains, IS, so be clear and direct in your resolutions. The moon and Uranus in Aries form a square aspect to the sun conjunct potent, controlling Pluto in Caprico
tonight, so be sure you mean the things that you say and be prepared to stand by your word. This is not a light or frivolous energy - in fact - it can intensify the feeling of drama and fear around change, new beginnings or the unknown. Mean what you say or don't say it at all. Another square betwee
Mercury in Sagittarius and Mars in Virgo can also generate worry and anxiety or cause a misinterpretation of communication. I also expect with the Mars/Mercury square and Pluto/sun/moon square, that police (Caprico
sun/Pluto) will be out ticketing (Mars in Virgo) speeders (Mercury in Sagittarius).

The Aries moon forming that challenging square to the sun conjunct Pluto in Caprico
can lead to over indulgence of food and drink - especially if your emotions are intensified by Pluto. Be sure to have a designated driver, or don't drink alcohol and drive, obey all rules of the road and be mindful of safety if you are traveling to or from a party.

I know the aspects today sound a bit extreme or negative. When we know that the planets are increasing the chances for conflict, negativity, fear, problems, etc., we are better able to be prepared for anything. The awareness, alone, can be enough to keep "worst case" scenarios from happening because things truly do manifest from our thoughts and emotions. We are conduits of planetary energy, and each of us is a unique transforming station. You are the one adjusting the dials and manipulating the incoming energy of the transits of the planets to your own chart. The design of you can be read in your birth chart, which is based on your exact moment and location of birth. Please contact me if you would like me to interpret your own chart. The new year is a perfect time for a "you review". Even if you have had other chart interpretations or readings in the past, no two are ever the same and I look at planetary transits along with your natal chart.

One blessed trine today betwee
Satu
in Libra and Neptune in Aquarius, highlights the potential of a collective consciousness to build a more perfect world and society based on freedom, beauty, individuality and mutual respect.
So be it!
