A Facebook "friend" is a loose term that can include anyone from your brother-- to an old elementary school buddy. You may receive a friend request from your best friend's cousin, a neighbor or a coworker from your last job; each claiming a general place among those on your friend list.

And then there are the people, who 20 years ago as teenagers, rescued you as a baby on their way home from 7-Eleven.

Mia Fleming, now 20 and a college student, tapped the power of the Inte
et to birth an important connection to Christopher Astle and Emily Yanich-- and that connection was welcomed and long overdue. Mia used Facebook to find the angels who rescued her 20 years earlier, when they chose to follow the cries that led them to a mound of towels on a doorstep in Fairfax, Virginia. That day back in 1989 was seared in their memories and the question mark at the end of their wonderings has turned to a period. It seems Mia is well, she is happy and she was adopted into a loving home. These were questions that quietly whirled in the minds of Christopher and Emily as they grew up and built their adult lives.

Mia decided after much searching and consideration to turn to Facebook to find the pair that made the decision to scoop up the newbo
baby after no one answered the door of the townhouse where she was found. After a quick game of mental ping-pong as they decided what to do, they returned with baby-in-arms to Emily's home. It was there that the teens brought Mia, only 12 hours old, to Emily's step Dad who began his query upon seeing the kids with,"What did you bring home this time?"

Now, 20 years and two important "friend" requests later, Mia's wish has been granted. She is finally able to say "thank you," to the people who found her all those years ago. And Chris and Emily, who used to call each other every year on the anniversary-- were positively thrilled to know what became of the little baby girl with the full head of hair wrapped in orange towels.
