Nothing Is Wasted – You can Be Thankful For Your Horrible Past Because Honey, It Is Making You Rich!

Gosh! Life can feel tough at times… Incredibly tough! I could tell you all my sad stories about what this parent did or what that friend did and how it hurt me and yep, it did… It hurt me so bad, deep down inside of me… It made me clam up, build walls around me… It made me careful about who I trusted… It made me try too hard to be liked for the false person I portrayed to the world… It made me empty… And if you have gone through something similar where you have felt hurt and wounded, you would nod your head, maybe even have a few tears come to your eyes and you would feel like I really understand you… And I do. (Not many coaches / therapists understand or can help in the way that I can, because I have walked this road) But you would not notice the fact that I said “It made me…” As though anything could make me do anything, feel anything, be anything UNLESS I LET IT HAPPEN! When I was 6, yes, maybe something, someone outside of me could make me feel and do something… But the moment I hit about 16, I was making choices… Well, maybe for me, it was the moment I came back to the UK at 17, it all became MY CHOICE! MY CHOICE to feel hurt… To feel victimised… To feel as though people could manipulate me into feeling anything… I ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE And so do you. Yes, terrible, horrible things happened… Yes, I felt helpless to stop it all… But you know what?! At some point, I had to take responsibility for continuing to allow myself to feel what I felt or act as I acted… And I have taken that responsibility. I am not a victim of my past any longer… I have forgiven… But there is a deeper level… And it is the next step for any leader who wants to win… Maybe, I am premature in writing about it as I am walking this path myself… But you need to know, to really deep down, know this… I feel like a light has come on inside of me… I can move past simply taking responsibility for my part in continuing to buy into my victim story, yep… But then I can even go on to be thankful to every single person in my life that enabled these stories to happen… I can see that there is nothing to forgive… WHY? Because I am who I am because these stories happened. They played a role to make me the powerful leader I am today… And I AM THANKFUL for it! I am strong because I had the story to overcome… I am free because I went through all of my past and I am standing… I would be weak if I had not gone through all of that… No, it was not perfect… But you know what?! It was perfect for me. So there is nothing to forgive… I choose to release the story around it all… It was EXACTLY what I needed to become this awesome specimen of human that I am… Yep, I do think I am pretty dang amazing, really! Honey, do you see what I am saying here. Whatever happened to you, was perfect… You may not be ready to accept that yet, I get it… But until you do, you will continue to be a victim of it, do you see? And victims DO NOT WIN! Victims are trapped in a sad, sorry cycle that keeps replaying and replaying, no matter how powerful you look to the world… NO matter how much you have overcome… You know that there is a cap on you, a limitation that you keep trying to get past but you can’t seem to be able to do it… Until you decide that you are done with it. Until you start to see that everything, EVERYTHING that happened to you, is a gift. A gift to reveal the power, the strength, the capability, the amazingness that is you… Nothing that has happened to you, has ever been random… You were not the victim of some horrid deity that just wanted to break you… You are not the victim of anyone or anything… There is a blessing, an opportunity and a lesson in everything… And it is all designed to get you to where you, deep down, really want to go… It is almost as though you made a pact with yourself to have these things to handle so that you could become the leader you are born to be… And honey, there is a great work, a great life awaiting you the moment you stop allowing the past to lead you by the nose… YOU ARE FREE the moment you decide to be free… No more guilt, no more shame, no more fear about the past or even the future… It is all a part of the making of rich, powerful you.
