Nuts and Bolts of Web Designing

There is time, but the days are numbered before the whole of the UK will be celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. If ever there was a time to talk to your web designer in London about what you can do to turn an effective website into a must see brilliant website it is now. In the middle of January, the BBC turned the public’s eyes up to the heavens and we were able to see phenomenal astronomical bodies interacting in ways that happen once in a lifetime, or once in a million years or once in a billion years. 2012 is the year when your ecommerce website or your online marketing brochure-style website must work harder than ever to capitalise on this amazing year; a year that we will never see again as it is not just the Diamond Jubilee that will turn the eyes of the world on Britain but we also have the London Olympics to enhance London’s, England’s, Britain’s standing in the world to a level not seen since England won the World Cup in 1966.
What can your website designer do to maximise the potential of 2012? In the first instance, it maybe that your web design needs a thorough overhaul; remember, visitors get bored if they keep visiting the same, old website. In other words, hire the best UK website designer you can find and get them to give your website a new lick of paint. It may be that a few designs can be updated but most important of all is ensuring that your copy is entirely refreshed and that it is fully search engine optimised with the best of the current crop of most searched for key words, complemented with a few long tail key phrases and words to scoop up searchers that the wealthier organisations have ignored.
Keep it simple
Web design has gone from the days when websites were entertainment platforms to websites, today, that are smooth, sleek, easy to navigate and have a payment process that is swift and simple. Gone are the days when a web designer in London would wish to include every technological trick to make your website look state of the art. That’s not to say that your website should be boring but unless you are selling online entertainment like Virgin Media or Sky, your website should be cool, sophisticated well written and attractive on the eye.
The nuts and bolts of good web desig
London based agency start with your website’s construction – is the coding sound? Are the internal links effective? The way a website is built determines whether a search engine will explore the content or pass over. Key words are vital but you must not indulge in key word stuffing; hire a copywriter to create brilliant copy and the writer will slip in all the analysed key words that you need. Don’t forget to describe all the photos in the photo tags; plenty of searchers still use Internet Explorer which picks up copy within photo tags. Last point: ask your website designer to make contacting your organisation easy on the website; nothing annoys potential customers more than being asked to decipher a complicated jumble of numbers and letters just to buy something from you or to make an enquiry. Often the person finds it too hard to read the letters, does not bother with the rubbish audio, and simply says bye-bye instead of buy-buy.
