Obsession Can Be A Great Thing When Creating Wealth

Most people, and I call them ‘norms’, think obsession is a bad thing but then you look at their life and their huge desire to spend as much downtime as possible in front of the TV, or drinking and getting drunk with friends, or at church all day everyday… Trying to drown out the lack of purpose, the sense that life is passing them by with nothing to show for it and I would say that they are obsessed, all right!! The problem is that their obsession is with trying very hard to drown out the emptiness. And the thing is that they succeed in doing that! They succeed in making themselves dead to all the things they actually want. They succeed in living a life of regret because they obsessively choose not to listen to themselves… They obsessively choose not to leave any room to think about what they are NOT doing with their life… Too scared to face the facts that time is ticking along and they are investing all their productive time in building other people’s dreams… And so they obsessively leave no gaps for such thoughts to rise to the surface because what would they do with them? And so, these same people come tell us, the deliberate ones, that we are too obsessed with our thing… We are too obsessed with building a super-profitable business… We are too obsessed with trying to reach the world and tell them that life can be different… They try to tell us that we are greedy, selfish, silly for wanting too much, silly for being so obsessed and I don’t know about you but I think… ‘SHUT UP!’ You go about your obsession with forgetting the powerful person you are… And I will go about my business bringing about change in the world. I will go about my business making my family’s life more luxurious and loving it! I refuse to be obsessed with drowning out a purposeless existence. I will be obsessed with living a purpose-driven life and I will die EMPTY! I will go to the grave in about 80 or more years, KNOWING that every moment of my life, from this moment on, was lived with purpose… Yes, it is hard work, this life that I choose… But it is work that I love to do… It is work that makes me feel exhilarated… It is work that spurs me on… It is work that excites me… It is work that wakes me up at 4am to do… I no longer need to drown my sorrows and be obsessed with being passive like I used to be when I was living to my parent’s design, living to old programming, scared that God would send lightning bolts if I strayed away from the rules other people were laying down for me. Now, I am FREE! Inside and OUT! And I am done with living to the rules of anyone. I am powerful – YOU ARE POWERFUL! Are you done yet?
