Learning how to attract people to your website is not just about mastering search engine optimization or SEO. You need to appeal to your visitors-you need to give them a reason to visit, stay, and return to your website. Here are some of the more important free website marketing tips you need to drive your web traffic: 1-Define your target audience: You don't want to attract just anyone and everyone-you need to attract the "right" people because they are the ones that are interested in your services and products and eventually give you a return on your investment. Define your target audience before anything else. Age, gender, lifestyle, likes and dislikes, the problems they face, the goals they want to reach, and where they can be found and/or accessed. These are just some of the factors you need to consider when trying to define and ultimately reach out to your target audience. 2-Work with what your audience needs, wants and expects: Remember to always serve the interests of your audience. Your web visitors won't stick around your website--much less buy anything--if you don't offer what they are looking for. You have to come up with content that your site visitors find relevant and useful to them. If you focus on developing content that helps them solve their problems or helps them reach their goals-you should never run out of products or services that meet their expectations or needs. 3-Use a conversational tone...speak their language: Another effective way to attract people to your website is to create a site that speaks their language. Stay away from a corporate tone that sounds boring or authoritative. You want to sound professional, but also make the conversation personal--as though you are speaking one-to-one. Using "you" and "your" makes visitors feel as though you are paying special attention to them and their needs. The key here is balance: create a website with enough personal touch to make your target audience feel comfortable, while keeping it tight enough to explain how your business services and products can help solve their problems, or help them reach their goals. 4-Keep the lines of communication open: Don't be unreachable. People love to interact with the people they decide to do business with. This is especially true when they want to ask questions or give comments. Give your audience a way to contact you. (via email or phone) Having no contact information posted on your website automatically puts up a red flag! Your audience may begin to wonder if they can trust you. Additionally, you can use a blog or social network page that allows your audience to freely exchange ideas with you and others in your audience. 5-Keep your web content fresh: If your audience knows you update your website with good information that is relevant and useful--they'll continue to check back to see what you've posted. If they notice no new content, chances are they'll stop visiting. Update your site with articles, tips, tricks, or strategies that help solve their problems and they'll be back often.
