The best thing to do if you are serious about organizing your garage before the spring months is to set aside at least two or three days. Having set days makes the task less daunting and allows time to purchase needed supplies. It also offers the chance to decide what should be retained without feeling rushed.

It’s now time to give the floors and existing items a thorough cleaning. Specific type of organization may be required. You should be open to special items such as wall organizers for hanging tools or shelves for bulky items which should not be on the floor.

Obviously you may have distinct limitations, but organizing your garage is guaranteed to help everyone. It will no longer be stressful to try to find an item when there’s an immediate need because it should literally be at your fingertips.

The following items have helped thousands of garage owners become organized and enjoy more usable space in their garages.

Shelving
The solution for most garage items is to think “up”, especially with a single car garage. Shelving is the single most efficient organizer known for garages. Out of season items can be placed safely on a higher shelf, saving valuable space. Frequently used cleaners or tools can be kept at eye level, while outdoor toys can be accessible at lower levels.

Boxes
They can be as small as plastic bins for holding screws or nails, or as large and decorative as those which hold holiday decorations. Other than being easy to label and stack, they are economical and can make for easier moving.

Racks and Caddies
From holding cans of oil, to buckets, brushes, and maintenance supplies, a car may require a caddy all for itself. In fact, caddies are great for dozens of items, such as tools, rags, small gardening tools and even those out of season snow boots, or those green stained sneakers you wear to cut the grass.

There are dozens of space saving and economical items to maximize garage space. All are guaranteed to make life much easier.
