Parenting Blog believes in the amazing relationship that mothers and their babies have. And babies always have that special regard for their mums even before they even learn to say their first word. This special regard in itself is natural and helpful to teaching a baby the basic and mandatory things.

How can parents help in the early learning and development of a baby?

1.It is practical parenting to know how babies learn. Before they learn to speak, they first listen for sounds and learn to reproduce them. Letting them hear first the vowel sounds, as these are easier to speak, will be greatly helpful. Then when they are able to produce these sounds, the more complex ones may be learned. However, it is important to always practice so that the baby gets better at it everyday.

2.A parenting advice is to tell parents to refrain from using baby talk with their babies. It may sound cute and natural but this will not help the baby. In fact, it will even waste his time as he will learn to talk this way until he grows bigger. Instead, parents must talk to their babies the natural way and use the proper words. Referring to a glass of milk using baby words is not appropriate.

3.Babies like to imitate actions and mimic those around them. When a parent teaches a baby the parts of his face or body, it is best done by role-playing. For example, teaching the baby where his eyes are would be best taught by the parent touching his own eyes and then holding the baby’s hand to his eyes. When repeatedly done, the baby will learn it.
Learning happens not only when the baby is born. It begins during pregnancy, in the mother’s womb. Mothers should pay special attention to what they can do to help in their baby’s development.

1.Relaxing music and sounds may be played to the baby during pregnancy. Music such as those designed for meditation may be used. Reading them stories like fairy tales will also help in their development.

2.It is also a good parenting tip to make the mum touch gently her belly as the baby can feel this. And when the baby kicks, the mother should press gently on that area as a response.

3.Always remember that the mum’s mood when she is pregnant greatly affects the development of the baby. That is why she must always strive to be calm and happy.

4.Mothers should also eat healthy and avoid unhealthy foods. Smoking and drinking alcohol should also be avoided.
Parenting is a gift and a skill that parents must learn. Doing it right can bring advantages on the baby but failing at it can also have some adverse effects on them. Babies who have been especially pampered by their mums at pregnancy show healthier signs.
