Dave Lakhani is a talented speaker, author and trainer. His areas of expertise are marketing and business strategy. Dave has been featured in several magazines including “Selling Power”, “Sales and Marketing Management”, “Entrepreneur”, “Business Solutions”, “Retail Systems Reseller”, “Integrated Solutions”, “Home Office Computing”, and “PC Magazine”.

Aside from magazines, Dave Lakhani has written a number one bestselling book called “Persuasion – The Art of Getting What You Want”, and he has been featured in both radio and television programs. Dave is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and he has studied other leading sales leaders like Jay Abraham and Zig Ziglar.

Dave’s training techniques have been used to boost some very big names including IBM, the U.S. Army, Rogers Media, Micron, GE and Wizard Academy. He didn’t start in marketing, though. In fact, Dave Lakhani was raised in a cult called the Branhamites, and has since left to do a lot of different types of jobs.

In the 1980’s, Dave worked as an undercover law enforcement officer in the drug department. Before that, he was both a professional fighter and even a cowboy. None of those jobs were satisfying, though. Dave didn’t discover his true passion until he began helping companies and individuals become more persuasive.

Dave discovered something that many people discover after finding their passion: work no longer seems like work, and the money seems to roll in on its own. After leaving the cult, Dave spent every day studying in The Andrew Carnegie Library to try to understand why his mother would choose to raise him in that environment. What he learned was much more about the art of persuasion and how it can be applied to sales instead.

Dave Lakhani’s definition of persuasion is “helping people come to their own most logical conclusion, which also happens to be one you share”. Persuasion isn’t the same thing as manipulation or coercion. With persuasion, you’re helping people make a decision by presenting them with information. With manipulation, your intent is to lie, misdirect, or confuse.

When you find a passion in which you truly believe, it becomes infectious. People understand your passion, your goals, and what you’re all about. They see how important your passion is to you, and that builds rapport. People trust that you’ll have their best interest at heart when you’re obviously passionate about your passion. There’s no need for manipulation.

Persuasion is used every day by every person. From the tricky used car salesman to a man looking for a date, it’s an important skill to learn if you want success in your life. Find a job, a wife, or anything you want simply by learning how to persuade people effectively and honestly!
