This little slice of Italy is one of Orange County’s hidden gems. Located in a strip mall in Costa Mesa, right off of the 55 South freeway. It might look modest or humble from the outside but don’t let that fool you! Inside is the culinary masterpiece of Chef and owner Moe Zand. His sauce is heavenly and the Lasagna is to die for! Everyday Moe makes his family recipe Italian meatballs from scratch to use in his meat sauce. Moe recently added gluten free pizza dough to the menu due to a food allergy that one of their long time customers had developed to gluten. When I asked Moe why he would go out of his way to accommodate a customer, he said “our customers are our familia”. That is the way that Moe has been for the past twenty years as a Chef in the food industry. Since taking ownership of Pizza Land in 2010, he has made it a point to get to know his “familia”. Moe became the new owner of Pizza Land to have a family business that his wife and sons could work at together. He loves that he gets to work with his family and feed his community at the same time. He has created a menu full of family recipes passed down to him from family and friends throughout his entire life. He takes pride in using fresh local produce and making his food from scratch. Since taking over ownership of Pizza Land in 2010, He and his family have put in lots of hard work to remodel the dining room and have added two large flat scree
TVs which are perfect for watching the game. This new Italian restaurant offers the best lunch buffet for under ten dollars in Orange County. They also have a great Happy Hour from 3-7pm when you want to get a drink with some friends after work. Domestic draft beer is only $2.oo a glass or $7.oo a pitcher. A personal pizza for Happy Hour is only $3.5o! There are nightly special for every night of the week! The pizza is always a great deal and a great idea for a carry out dinner on those nights when you want a warm home style meal. In addition to their in house specials they also have an extensive catering menu! They offer all the classic Italian creations like Lasagna, Veal Parmigiana, Spaghetti with Meatballs and Antipasto. Their catering menu is always available for carry out or delivery. And their fast friendly service is going to keep you coming back for more! When you come in to Pizza Land it is likely you will be greeted by either Moe himself or his son Milad. They make all their dishes from scratch and their Pizza is always made to order! Moe’s signature sauce has gotten quite the following in town as the best in Orange County. Moe is thrilled to be able to share his old family recipes with his community and looks forward to getting to know all his new neighbors in Costa Mesa, Irvine and Newport Beach. Come by the restaurant and give this little slice of Italy a try for yourself! You won’t be disappointed and once you become part of Moe’s extended “familia” you won’t want to go anywhere else.
