The title for this article actually has more than one meaning. First, when you eat plant based, it tends to be very fresh. Secondly, for many people who go plant based, it is a fresh start on their health. In reality, being plant based is being vegan. However, some vegans are not 100% plant based.
Yes, it can be a bit confusing but the bottom line is vegans and plant based eaters do NOT eat any animal products including dairy, eggs or any other products of animal origin, in addition to not eating meat like the vegetarians.
The term “vegan” was first used in 1944 by a small group of vegetarians who broke away from the Leicester Vegetarian Society to form the Vegan Society.
Someone can be plant based in their eating, but not 100% vegan. A vegan, through and through, doesn’t wear leather, fur, silk, or wool.
The Pain Woke Me Up
A few months ago, I was experiencing increasingly painful inflammation in my right hand as well as other joints. As a writer, it was impacting my ability to type for more than a few minutes at a time.
After researching natural remedies, I decided test out a 100% plant based eating protocol for seven days. Within two days, the inflammation all but disappeared.
Not 100% convinced the inflammation might not return, I gave it another seven days. Then another. That was three months ago.
Since the day the inflammation disappeared, it has not returned. As if that weren’t enough, in the time I’ve been eating plant based, the results have been nothing short of amazing. Not only have I dropped an unwanted weight without dieting (23 pounds so far), my energy and concentration have improved substantially.
As a hobbyist runner, I’ve even noticed my endurance increasing over time, my joints not aching after a run and recovery is fabulous.
I’ve also noticed my stress is almost nonexistent as well as my creativity and intuition improving.
I Feel Very Aligned
Since recommitting to a plant based lifestyle, I feel much more in alignment with my claim that I care about animal welfare. Truth be told, I have to wonder how I could have consumed animal products for most of my life.
The more research I do on what it takes to get meat on a consumer’s plate, the more committed I am to never eating any type of meat or dairy product. If you’ve not researched this, why not take time to do so. You will be shocked at what you discover.
YouTube is filled with videos that show the horrors of how most meat, fish and poultry is processed and how truly cruel and unhealthy it is.
Veganism is on the Rise
What used to be reserved for the fringes of society are now becoming mainstream. Veganism and plant-based eating is definitely on the rise. Veganism isn’t a new concept, but it’s been receiving more and more attention lately. In fact, online searches for the term vegan have risen by more than 250% over the last 5 years.
Studies show that not only is it beneficial for entrepreneurs to become plant-based eaters, many new businesses are emerging with plant-based choices in their products and services offerings.
According to an article in Forbes.com, “Sales of plant-based food in the US went up by 8.1% during the past year, topping $3.1 billion, according to research carried out by Nielsen for the Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA) and the Good Food Institute.
Plant-based dairy alternatives are expected to represent 40% of the combined total of dairy and dairy alternative beverages within three years, up from just 25% in 2016, according to research firm Packaged Facts. The company predicts new types of dairy-free milks to find wider audiences in 2018, including barley, hemp, pea, flax and quinoa.”
Why Adopt a Plant Based Protocol?
Although someone can be vegan, they can still eat processed foods and foods that don’t support a healthy lifestyle.
Plant based on the other hand, tends to be extremely healthy. Especially if the person does all they can to eat whole foods, eliminate processed foods and eliminate salt, oil and sugar. Processed sugar that is. Fruits are definitely a part of a plant based protocol.
People adopt a plant-based diet for any number of reasons including health, weight loss, compassion to animals, minimizing reliance on the healthcare system (which is broken) and overall well-being. Productivity definitely increases. I know this from my own experience.
Amazingly, as an entrepreneur, you will likely improve the way you perform in your business by adopting a plant-based protocol.
What’s even more amazing is that within seven days of eating-plant based you could see substantial changes in your energy, focus, blood pressure and creativity. Your competitive edge will increase too.
The reality is, as an entrepreneur, the healthier you are, the more capable you are of running and growing your business.
