Reflecting back on the past year and looking ahead to 2019, I would like to share this quote with you:

“There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.” ~ Ray Goforth

People who are afraid to try will hold you back and you can choose to let them or not. It’s not only those people but also your own mind, your beliefs and your self-talk might tell you that you cannot make a difference. Remember, your beliefs and self-talk are formed early on in life based on what other people have told you. Spending less time with people who don’t believe in you and building up your own beliefs and confidence will make a big difference.

Then there are the people who are afraid you will succeed. How can this be? Well, when you change and succeed, the people close to you see the change and are either happy for you or feel intimidated by you because your progress makes them realize their own lack of. Change is often uncomfortable for those who surround us and our friends would like us to stay “where we are” so they don’t have to change.

For 2019, I encourage you to set an intention to surround yourself with people who are determined to succeed and who cheer you on, encourage you, believe in you and celebrate your accomplishments with you.

Wishing you a marvelous 2019!!
