Pope Wants Change on Death Penalty—a Fulfillment of Prophecy?

“Pope Francis said the death penalty is ‘inadmissible’ and called for changes to church doctrine to prohibit it,” Time Magazine Videos This is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy says Dr. Richard Ruhling, author on current events, offering the following information.

Protestant reformers saw the pope as represented by the little horn that grew out of the 4th beast in Daniel 7, the Roman Empire. Verse 25 says it “shall think to change times and laws.”

Popes have changed the times for when days, months and years begin. Six times on the first page of the Bible, it says, “the evening and the morning were the__ day,” but now they say days begin at midnight.

In Exodus 12, God told Moses that the chodesh (thin crescent, Google images) was the beginning of the month, but our Gregorian Calendar from Pope Gregory has no relationship between the crescent moon three weeks ago and the month’s beginning two weeks ago.

In the same verse (2) God said that crescent was the beginning of the year—it was first month of spring when they had Passover two weeks later, but now we start the year in winter—January with a two-faced Greek god, Janus. The two faces look backwards and forwards.

Now the pope wants the death penalty abolished. God told Moses, “life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth…burning for burning, stripe for stripe.” in Exodus 21.

Moses is seen with the Ten Commandments over the entrance of the Supreme Court that has mocked biblical laws from the days of Roe v Wade with congressional approval.

With such an accurate description of the papacy by the little horn in Daniel 7, we might wonder what the future holds. Early Americans believed the papacy was represented by the sea beast in Revelation 13 that had a deadly wound (Protestant Reformation) but the deadly wound healed.
October 31 marks 500 years since Luther nailed 95 theses to the church door protesting its abuses, but Lutherans and Catholics are celebrating join communion and the healing of a deadly wound, and the prophecy says, All the world worshiped the beast. This does not mean everyone bows to the pope, but maybe he gets credit, esteem or homage than the Bible sees is worthless.

Also in Revelation 13, some see the US as represented by the beast with two horns like a lamb, but no crowns on the horns—a government without a king and a church without a pope—Protestant America. But changes occur and this beast brings fire from heaven (Hiroshima?) and causes the world to make an image (look-alike) to the previous (papal) beast.
The United Nations is the government described and it will compel false worship (Rev 13) so no one can buy or sell without compliance to the system and a harlot (unfaithful church) is seen riding or guiding that system in the 17th chapter where the clues fit the papacy.
But first we need a state of chaos and confusion so the world can see that we need a great moral leader—the pope, to be in charge. That’s what’s behind a crescendo of dark events almost weekly.
By then we will have forgotten the genocide against Protestant Tutsis in Rwanda where the UN had so many vehicles on the streets, “if you spit, you would hit one,” but the UN did NOTHING to stop the genocide because it wasn’t in Catholic interests. CNN

“Rome, in a position of weakness, is as gentle as a lamb.’
Rome, in a position of equality, is as clever as a fox.
Rome, in a position of strength, is as fierce as a tiger,” said Jack Chick, Protestant publisher whose materials were kept in a back closet of a Christian bookstore in Chattanooga “because they threatened to burn us down,” said Mrs. Lanham, owner of Lanham’s Christian Books.
