Putting together the perfect attention grabbing project manager resume is tough. To make this painful process easier I’ve found there are certain power words that recruiters look for, make sure you feature these power words in your resume.
Let’s take a look at seven power words you should feature in your project manager
resume and why:

1. Effective Communicatorr
Without a doubt one of the most critical things a project manager must be able to do is communicate. You cannot run projects from inside an office with a closed door. Recruiters are looking for ways you have communicated effectively.

2. Problem Solverr
Forget about all the fancy terms like Monte Carlo simulation or fishbone root cause etc, a recruiter’s has no idea about them. Describe how good you are at solving problems in clear and plain language.

3. Emotional Intelligencer
This term describes your ability to identify, assess, manage and control the emotions of yourself and others. Simply put it means you can detect the emotional state of others and not wind them up. Describe how sensitive you are towards peoples “emotional state”.

4. Project Visionr
In your project manager resume, recruiters are looking for your ability to display high level vision. Make sure you can describe all your projects overall missions and context in the larger scheme of things.

5. Presentation Skills

The presentation of information to different groups is a key skill. Demonstrate on your resume how you have presented to different groups.

6. Time Managementr
Organising ones time is difficult at the best, let alone while under the pressures of a project. Describe in your resume how you organise, create and bend time to your will.

7. Risk Managementr
Make sure you address this hot topic. Ideally for each project if you have run the methodology it should be the same, however each project has its unique risks, describe how you managed them.

If you use these power words your well on the way to creating the perfect project manager resume.
