With nearly 50% of all emails sent in America being some form of spam or advertising emails, there was a public cry for a service that will allow to detect the source of emails. The cry got louder as people opened emails with malware that ruined their computer or led to online theft and fraud. In order to provide users with information about any email, spam or other, the GoLookUp website has set up a reverse email search directory. Users of GoLookUp can enter any email from America, and find out its origin, and whether it is malware. The directory on the website scans public records in order to search for the origin of the emails and provides a detailed report about it within minutes. Besides the origin of the information, GoLookUp informs users on the person or company behind it and provides a report with contact information. The service is meant to protect users according to the CAN-SPAM act in the US and allow them to find out who is emailing them. If the emailers do not follow the guidelines of the act, that specify exactly how advertisements via email should be sent, users can report them and even have them blocked. Spam and malware have been a hot topic over the past few years, and there was a public demand to gain back some of the power and find out who is behind certain emails. GoLookUp's reverse email search directory allows users to protect themselves according to the CAN-SPAM act and learn if they are in danger of fraud and any other form of deception.
