All of us want to have a special place where we can go and just relax, when the day is done. In our busy lives today, there is little time to just sit and relax. But, when the long days and warmer temperatures of summer are upon us, we will want to be able to relax and enjoy the fruits of our labors with our family and friends.

After having cleaned and planted our garden beds, there remains only one additional task to complete your garden…add a special area for you to use for relaxation, peace, and comfort. This is one task that we can look forward to! There are many ways to accomplish this. You can use hard landscaping, such as paving, flagstones, and pavers. Or, you can use soft landscaping, such as hedges, shrubs, trees, field layer plants, ornamental grasses, aquatic plants,or grassy and sandy areas. Either one is a great way to create a space which will allow you to set up your special relaxation area.

Incorporating different types of materials and textures adds unique individuality to any garden. Some features you can use to enhance the beauty of your garden include, water fountains, wooden garden benches, hammocks, hammock chairs, and wind chimes, to name a few.

There are many different types of hammocks, chairs, and benches from which to choose. This is one area that you will want to do some research to pick the best products for you and your family. However, this is also the one place you do not want to skimp! This will be the most important piece(s) for the type of relaxation you choose for your garden.

In addition, to help you create the ambiance you want, you will want to choose whether you want a soft, tinkling wind song or a comforting trickling from a water feature. Again, there are many types of wind chimes and water fountains to choose from and will be dependent on the amount of room you have. Both of these features can be accommodated in the smallest spaces, making them an easy addition to include in your garden.

No matter which ones you choose, gardens and backyards are the ideal place to unwind from the stresses of the day, will enhance the beauty of your gardens and property, and will add significant and wonderfully enticing focal points for you and your visitors to admire and enjoy!
