There are several steps one needs to take to promote a soul bond between partners. The first, and probably most important, step is to cherish your mate as you would God, for indeed, your partner truly is an element of this Infinite Spirit. Given that we are all interconnected through the bond of spirit, your love
is a representative of God, just as you are. It is paramount that your union be handled with respect, kindness, and love as befitting a sacred connection.

Cherishing your partner could be as simple as expressing a compliment, or giving a massage for no special reason. Use your imagination and creativity to delight your lover; the pleasure you give need not cost a dime, but will be worth a fortune. Hand in hand with a spiritual relationship is the urge to give to your loved one, through special deeds or words shared with the intent to make each day more joyful.

These gestures of love are best offered in a spontaneous way, and not done out of a sense of obligation or fear of loss. The actions you take should be natural, and not be contrary to who you are. Ideally, you give to your partner because it will bring happiness, and not because you want to score points in the relationship. In an honest exchange, manipulation is absent, and both partners benefit from the unselfish manner in which they please one another.

By renewing your relationship daily, you will be living one of the prime precepts of the spiritual life: namely, living in the moment, or the ?now.? As long as one puts into practice the principle of living in the present, it follows that one will make a point of refreshing the relationship link from moment to moment. Living in the ?now? presupposes that the most important time is the present. The past cannot be reconstructed and the future cannot be manufactured; thus, the only thing left for us to experience is the current time in which we find ourselves. It is enough to be fully present in the moment in order to continue to evolve together, as lovers and as spiritual partners.
