Robin William's Suicide Due to Drug for Parkinson's--How Many Other Deaths that We Don't Know?

Summary: Prescription drugs have had a “free pass” for too long. It's time to revisit the science of pharmacology, evolved from toxicology—the science of how much chemical killed half the animals.
A close friend of Williams said Robin was taking a drug for Parkinsons that listed suicide as a side effect. Isn't it time to blow the whistle on big pharma as a leading cause of illness, disability and death? The list of adverse reactions for most prescription drugs could scare us to death if not kill us outright.
Where do we find such a list? Ask your friendly pharmacist. It should be a law that he give it, whether or not you ask, like the warning on the cigarette package. Beware means be aware of what it can do to you.
Another option is to visit the public library to see the Physician's Desk Reference. Look up the brand name of your prescription. Sometimes doctors save you money by writing the Rx generically. But companies are only required to publish information about their product. You won't find acetominophin in the PDR, but Tylenol (brand name) is what you might look for it you take a lot of it (liver toxicity is a big factor). The brand names are listed alphabetically in the front pink section with a page number for discovering adverse reactions you wouldn't dream--maybe nightmare is a better term for this.
“Every drug is by definition a poison. Pharmacology and toxicology are one, and the art of medicine is to use these poisons beneficially.” Drills Textbook of Pharmacology in Medicine, Mechanism of Action
An example of beneficial use would be a drug to bring the blood pressure down to prevent a stroke if the lower number is 120-140 or higher, but wouldn't it be better to avoid a high fat, high salt diet that makes the blood sticky and it raises blood pressure? Lack of exercise or sleep and stress, alcohol or other drugs can cause high blood pressure, so let's start with things we can do for ourselves.
For depression, one should avoid drugs that may be a factor. This is includes alcohol and caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant, but what goes up must come down and chronic users and abusers find their get-up and go has got up and went. Depression is also helped by aerobic exercise like brisk walking. Dr. Ostrand said Americans should walk their dog, whether or not they have one. Doing volunteer work is also an antidepressant.
Often there is a chronic problem that needs addressing. Stalked by a tiger in their dreams, many would find that if they turn and face it, it would slink away. One problem that millions face is poor health from a bag of pills. Why not look for better answers by a change in diet and exercise habits?
Many would be amazed to learn that the last call out of the confused systems of society includes an indictment against drugs, “for by her sorceries [Greek word is pharmakeia] were all nations deceived.” Revelation 18:23.
Every nation practicing western medicine is on the brink of bankruptcy because in the end, drugs relieve symptoms but rarely “cure” the underlying cause. Sooner or later the body reacts to chemicals as toxins.
The bottom line for life that's not worth living is to get a new one. The Person who divided BC from AD told a religious leader, “You must be born again!” He was speaking of a new life that comes from giving up on ourselves without suicide. The Alcoholics Anonymous are famous for their “12 Steps” or we can simply say, God, if You exist, help me! And then give Him a chance to reveal His love and strength by taking time to read His Word. The gospel of John is a great place to start.
The best book that I have found is one of biblical wisdom on how to live life well with purpose, health and happiness.
