Rock and Roll Your Way to Empowerment

It's a funny thing....for me, at least. Whenever I feel a bit turned around or completely lost in the dark invariably a powerful piece of wisdom comes to me in the form of a rock and roll lyric. I believe poetry, lyrics in its musical form, is the highest expression of the divine human spirit. Lyrics never fail to clearly articulate what I don't understand within.

It's Only Rock and Roll

Like you, I once spent time running away from myself in pursuit of something that could only really be found within. When I finally took that inner journey that completely changed my life in ways I couldn't even imagine at the time, rock and roll lyrics supported me along the way. They gave me the inspiration and the courage to tell the story of who I am with my whole heart.

Truth, personal and universal, is to what I hold myself in highest integrity. It's no wonder so many lyrics that touch my heart have to do with truth. Whenever I start to lean into the expectations of others, Sinead comes to my rescue:

"And there's millions of peopler
To offer advice and say how I should ber

Whenever I have a shadow of doubt I turn to my personal favorite...

"Shine on you crazy diamond." - Pink Floyd

Whenever I feel frustrated, agitated or royally pissed off this lyric rushes in to remind me to reach for a better perspective.

"Mold a new realityr
Closer to the heart." - Closer To The Heart, RUSH

My mission is to serve my clients at my highest and best ability. When I'm searching for the precise words to express what I want to say to a client, I'll be magically reminded of a lyric. JJust last week a Moxie VIP Inner Circle client was struggling with her inability to let go and love openly. Divorced, she was reluctant to enter into a new relationship and "be hurt like that" again.

Without going into the personal and private details of her inner challenges I simply said,

"Love and pain became one and the same in the eyes of a wounded child." - Hell Is For Children, Pat Benetar

That one line opened the door to a transformational conversation to reframe "love = pain" into "love = acceptance".

There are sources of wisdom and inspiration all around you. Be open to your messages of wisdom, especially the ones that touch your heart and are remembered. Trust and act upon them.
