Stressed out about all of the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Right? You’re rocking it out one minute and the next so far behind. How in the heck does that happen? And, what about all of the things you’re telling yourself that it means? Those thoughts keep pushing your success further away. As a result, you’re not on target to achieve the goals that you really desire.

This lack of consistency is a problem that’s caused struggle, frustration, and disappointment many times, and I’m going to share my answer for you on how to deal with.

So, let’s take the first question:

Question: Why does success feel so unstable? Moving forward and then going backwards, so the traction doesn’t seem to be happening?

Answer: It’s quite common to have a lot of forward momentum and then, with the drop of a hat, fall back. It’s often because of a lack of strategy. What this means is that often entrepreneurs, although super-creative, are lacking the planning and implementation needed to move forward consistently. As a result, things get dropped, or they’re always playing catch-up.

Solution: Create a quarterly plan that maps out your desired income and the steps that you need to get there.

Now for the second question:

Question: What is all of that negative self-talk doing to you during this time?

Answer: Unfortunately, it’s keeping you stuck. When you start telling yourself that “you aren’t good enough” or “you can’t keep up” or “you’re overwhelmed” or “you don’t know what to do next” or whatever the heck you’re telling yourself, it is undermining your confidence making it harder for you to stay focused and in action.

Solution: What I use for myself and with my clients are mindset techniques. My favorite is “tapping,” and I also use Laws of Attraction and Neuroscience to help diminish the power of these negative thoughts and re-frame what is going on. It helps my clients stay positive, confident and skyrocket their success.
You need to have both your mindset and action/marketing strategies aligned with where you’re going. Unfortunately, most people start their business from a place of love, and the last thing that they’re focused on is their beliefs and planning of their business. Hence, the problem often never gets solved for them.
