If you are a panic attack sufferer, you already know how awful having these attacks can be. But, what can you do to help reduce panic attacks and their symptoms? In the following article, this question will be answered so that you can rid your life of panic attacks and be happier.

When experiencing a panic attack you should use deep breathing techniques, but not for too long at one time. Do ten deep breaths and then wait ten minutes before you start again. Spacing them out will help to keep your body relaxed and the panic attack away for the rest of the day.

Think about your nerves as you go through your panic attack. Visualize a nerve in each part of your body and the tiny little impulses it sends out. Imagine them becoming calm, slow, and more relaxed. Work through each part of your body one by one until you feel better.

Think through the worrisome thoughts that go through your head during a panic attack one by one. Consider why you feel that way, whether or not it's rational, and how you can solve the problem you face. As you start to go through your thoughts you'll find that many will disappear and your attack will come to an end.

If you're feeling a panic attack come on, do something! Wash the dishes, take a bath, go for a long walk, but make sure you do something that either burns up your excess energy or helps to calm you down. Take the long walk and then follow it up with the long bath!

Take a self-analysis before you have an attack. Finding the root causes of your fear can be enlightening. Look into what is causing your fear and share these deep fears with someone you trust. When you share and explore the root causes of your fear, it loses the power over your mind.

Exercising can help you tolerate the physical discomfort of a panic attack. The feelings you get while exercising, such as heavy breathing and heart racing, are very similar to what you feel during a panic attack. If you exercise regularly then you become used to these feelings and know that they are not deadly.

If you experience panic attacks, it is best to not try and fight them when one occurs. If you fight the panic, this will produce more adrenaline and may increase the symptoms. Instead, try your best to sit down and rest and meditate. The panic will subside after a little while.

Get outside, enjoy the clean air, and beat your panic attack! Raking leaves or gardening are amazing ways to beat the fears and worries racing through your head and use your pent up energy for something useful. Look at the job you've completed when you've finished and be proud of your hard work!

As was stated in the beginning of the article, anyone who has ever had a panic attack knows how awful these attacks are. The most effective way to combat panic attacks is to become educated in the subject so you will know what to do the next time you have one.
