One of the concepts that technology has sufficiently delivered on is speed. The communication that once took months to send over oceans and across lands now only take seconds in the form of an email. The ability to reach out to someone only takes a moment in pressing the ‘send’ button on our cell phones via text messages and phone calls. We have even upgraded from horse and buggies to speedy cars with all sorts of style. The point is speed. We have become a society that relies on speed to get things done and expects things to get done in a certain speedy manner.

Speed is the same concept you have to think about in your business. Remember, in this fast past world we live in, if you’re not delivering in a speedy manner, you’re bound to be forgotten. So if you’re going to write an article, write it already. If you’re going to present a new coaching series, present it already.
You shouldn’t be taking weeks, or months to put out material to your clients. They want to hear from you now.
What you have to realize is that nothing in business, or in life, is perfect. So maybe you meant to write A-N-D instead of A-N and your followers noticed. The point is your clients are more than likely willing to forgive your errors as long as they hear from you. But they want to hear from you now and often.

Now this isn’t to say you shouldn’t have standards. Absolutely hold onto your high standards. Check and double check whatever you put out, but just do it already. Deliver!

Remember, the faster you get things done, the more you get done. The faster things begin to happen, the more leverage you gain and the more money you make, and more importantly, the more your followers fall in love with you.

Why? Because the universe loves speed.

You might be wondering how you put out everything you want to put out fast and still keep your high standards? Other than leverage, a great trick or tactic for getting things done is to set a timer.

You want to write an article? Set the timer for 30 minutes and spend that time writing the article. Don’t check your email, don’t see what’s going on with Facebook, or Twitter, don’t answer the phone, just do whatever you said you were going to do for that time and do only that.

When the timer goes off, you’re done.

Whether you’re in the middle of a sentence or thought, when that timer goes off, your article (or whatever you’re working on) is done.

What this does for you is provide focus and strategy in being productive and implementing your plans.

Don’t be afraid of speed. When you embrace the speed in which you get things done you will dramatically increase productivity. And when productivity goes up, you and everybody in your business, clients included, are going to be a lot happier.

For most owners of a privately held company, when the time is right they want to sell their business for the highest price possible in the quickest time possible and live happily ever after. There is nothing too complicated in that and at a basic level, that’s perfectly fine.
