Most of us find it difficult to stay healthy and fit. Perhaps it is because we enjoy eating so much that it becomes hard to pay attention to the kind of food we eat. Are you sure you feed your body right? Do the foods you eat supply the nutrients your body needs to function correctly? How can you make sure that you are eating the right food? The solution is for you to list GI of common foods, select the ones that are best for you, and stick to them.
Staying healthy takes a lot of self-discipline and resourcefulness. It is not a solution that can be perfected ove
ight but only happens gradually. If you want to start living healthy, you can begin by listing the GI of common foods and then picking the best ones. Here are some steps to help you out:
• Identify common foodsr
Potatoes, white bread, carrots, candy or chocolate bars, corn, bananas, pasta, peas, bread, fruit juices, dairy, lentils, fresh fruits, and green vegetables are just some of the common foods people eat. In addition to this, we are also fond of eating chicken, fish, pork, and beef. You can make a list of the glycemic indices of these common foods by searching the web or asking experts about them. For example, studies have discovered that fruits and vegetables have low GI. However, GI can vary significantly, and take note also that it can depend also on how food are prepared.
• Read materials about common foods and their respective GI
Once you have identified the common foods, you can move on to gathering more and more information about their GI. You can read articles in the internet or in health jou
als. Health researchers and experts have been measuring GI of different foods for years. You should be able to find many articles that will help you make your list.
• See a doctor or nutritionistr
In case you still have doubts about the list, you must see your doctor, a nutritionist, or a health expert. They are the best persons you can consult and can definitely help confirm whether your list is correct or not.
Construct your list by following the simple steps presented above. Once you have made your list, make sure that you stick to it. Avoid common foods with very high GI and switch to healthier stuffs with low GI. This is the best way for you to start having a healthier body and living a longer, happier and healthier life.
