Stop And Notice

In my book, The Mystical Secrets of Life, I dedicate a lot of energy to miracle thinking. By this I mean that miracles are happening around us, through us and for us CONSTANTLY while many people go their merry way ignoring them or even complain their way through them. Life is totally miraculous. Some evening instead of watching the media´s attempt to prolong and intensify all that is negative on the 6 o’clock news, try watching the Discovery Channel or Animal Planet or just look into the evening sky and be in awe of the wisdom and beauty of life.
I am currently visiting Costa Rica, something I do often. The local newspaper featured a man who saved the life of a crocodile which had a gunshot wound. Both the man and the reptile were about 50 years old. The photos showed an affectionate relationship between man and beast. So many people will say "amazing" and walk away missing the significance. The reptilian brain, according to science, doesn’t love. Its entire purpose is survival--kill or be killed. Friendship is not programmed in the creature's computer...it just doesn’t compute. The best that could be expected is for the reptile to learn not to fear the man. It is not impossible to train a reptile, though it would be less likely than it would be with mammals, but it would be impossible scientifically to teach it love...and yet, there he was embracing and kissing the crocodile on the mouth...symbolic of love and safety. Don’t try this at home!!!
So why do we see and witness miracles, yet refuse to recognize them? It is because we don’t want to be thought of as fools for believing in the impossible. We are ashamed to be child-like and believe the unbelievable. What’s more, many people complain when children have dreams and make them feel foolish for their naiveté.
I have made it a life-style seeking out and appreciating miracles with thanksgiving and praise. I will stand in front of a group and address miracle thinking as an everyday possibility, while children who believe in the "impossible" are being humiliated. When the DVD program and book The Secret was being discussed on TV, I was thrilled. It teaches what I have been nlearning and teaching for decades, we change our lives based upon our focus. The critics came out of the woodwork to discredit it. Those who need to believe in limitations to be safe will always show up when the real magic of life appears. I have photos of impossibilities I have saved. When I show them, the response falls between negative and no response. Few are in awe of my photos of the impossible. When I showed friends how I taught a 6 week old baby to say "good girl " they laughed and walked away--refusing to believe that they heard it. Lucky for my sanity I had one adult witness.
I will continue to teach miracles in the face of scoffers. Those who realize the possibilities will always benefit. We are simply not helpless and alone! Divine Love rules our lives.
