Have you heard of such a thing? Trust me if it’s stylish there’s structure. If it’s structured it has a since of style. Does structure make you feel uncomfortable? Is it mandatory for you to have style? Definitely not! Even though many trendy magazines send out the fashion police to make assessments on what’s hot and what’s not. Style is part of the human experience. If you could have a dollar for every time someone (man or woman) checked you out. You’d be rich, no matter how (good or bad) your individual style was assessed! We certainly know style when we see it, but there is no prototype which means you have the opportunity to create your own. In my opinion if you want to add more style to your life it starts with putting some structures in place. It might not be tres chic to say “I’m living a structured life”. Okay, that doesn’t sound enticing but the byproduct of those words is a recipe for truly perfecting your potential. Anything that is stylish has a level of structure to it. The sun rises and sets every day. The moon comes out no matter what (sometimes it’s full, sometimes not). Every year we have winter, spring, summer and fall. The sky is always many shades of blue. Mother Nature definitely has a since of style and it’s not just because of how it looks, it’s the feeling that’s provoked within because it’s something we can draw inspiration from. There’s a security attached to knowing that it will always be there. Think about how much you appreciate the consistency in nature. Strive to bring that level of order to your own life. Why is it the savvy thing to do? Structure is nothing more than a fancy word for being organized but for some reason organization can be rather vague which is why it needs to be defined. Chances are you are a busy professional and wish to gain control of everyday tasks so your personal and professional life runs with ease and grace. Set up structures and live with a renewed sense of focus and the peace of mind you’re currently missing. • In the morning make the bed • Plan what you intend to wear the night before • Put effort into your physical appearance and work out • Tidy up the closet • Have a clear and concise “to do list” • Do the dishes • Manage your time by focusing on important tasks • Get your finances in order • Clean your house, organize your office and clean your car • Hang around positive people A little bit of structure everyday goes a long way. You will feel so much better and be much more productive. Think of practical ways you can incorporate structure every day to put the style back in your life.
