There are many strong reasons to support this claim. Firstly swimming is a full body exercises that works all of the major muscles of the body at the same time. Swimming is a low impact exercise, sport or workout which puts very little stress on the body. Unlike skipping or running, which are high impact exercises, swimming is low impact but still works all the major muscles.

There are several great benefits to swimming other than the calorie burning power it provides. Swimming will also aid a fitness training program. One of the best things about swimming is that it is suitable for people of all ages regardless of health and fitness levels and it provides a very enjoyable way to exercise without spending hours a day.

Now in regards to weight loss swimming provided a fantastic solution for cardio exercise. As mentioned already it works all the major muscles, so there is no isolation. When all the muscles are working together, there is greater potential for more calories to be burned, and more muscle and power to be gained.

The simple fats is that to lose weight a calorie reduction has to take place somewhere in your weight loss plan. The healthy weight range is 1-2lbs per week to aim for. The first thing to look at is the dietary and nutritional requirements of the individual trying to lose weight.
