Tarot Cards are fun, fascinating and full of mysteries. There are incredibly beautiful decks available today, and they ALL work, primarily because the answers to your questions are not in the cards themselves. Tarot cards merely guide you to focus attention on the answers which are already in YOU… in your subliminal mind.
Imagine a place in your mind which is twilight dark and infinitely vast. You pick up a card, and it’s the 8th major arcana card, “STRENGTH,” from the Rider-Waite Deck. It’s a picture of a woman in a white robe with an infinity symbol over her head, gently closing a lion’s jaw. You look at the picture and the synapses in your mind start firing away… spotlighting visuals in your mind… triggering memories of lion experiences and the feelings associated with them: Fear. Awe. Danger. Triggering memories of angelic figures in white: The nurse at school who made you feel better. Your mother in a white nightgown.
As a card reader, my mind is already conditioned to interpret the various meanings of this card.
If you are a lady asking about your boyfriend, I might sense that he tends to be too controlling, and you might have to use purity of spirit (white gown) and infinite patience (infinity symbol) to “tame” his aggressive controlling behavior. Depending on the cards which surround this “Strength” card, I might even advise you that “taming” your particular lion might only lead to more complications and ultimate heartache.
If you are a young man concerned about your job, I might caution you about the predatory character of your employer. I might advise you to use balance (infinity symbol) in dealing with your boss. Handled too gently, your boss is likely to prey on your weaknesses; too forcefully, your boss is likely to see you as a threat and send you packing.
In my experience, I’ve discovered that the different artwork in the many different decks trigger different subliminal memories. One of my most favorite decks is the Aquarian Tarot by David Palladini. The artwork is beautiful, and there is something profound and spiritually moving in the scenarios of each card. I find myself accessing a person’s past lives when I use that deck for readings.
With practice and discipline, you too can use the tarot cards to access the messages from your inner self. It takes practice because you might receive so many subliminal triggers you won’t know what to focus on. And it takes discipline because you will have to set your personal feelings aside and process the information objectively. Not an easy thing to do.
In addition, the traditional tarot deck has 78 cards. The task of working with so many cards – each card with such a wealth of symbols and potential meanings – can be daunting. The solution, of course, is to consult with professional readers for answers to your questions.
Needless to say, there are dangers in tarot consultation. Unfortunately, not all “spiritual” readers are honest. I’ve heard of some who will fabricate “problem” areas in your life which only they can solve, and so you end up going back to them again and again to resolve your dilemma… and spend quite a great deal of money in the process. If possible, research your consultants thoroughly, or use spiritual advisers who have been recommended by people you trust.
Still, for those who are on a path to self-knowledge and seek tools which facilitate that journey, Tarot cards are fun and revealing. They can be wonderful companions who guide and advise you during the many complicated, confusing moments in your life. Happy tarot readings to you!nn(NOTE: Tessie has created and designed a “Personal Adviser” TessieTarot deck of 9 cards for instant and immediate guidance to the spontaneous dilemmas which surface in the daily routine of life.”)
