Ecommerce websites for online business are flooding the internet domain these days and with India being the potentially strongest emerging market in the world, it becomes important to give a digital direction to these online store business houses. The digital trends that are emerging and that will impact the future of the Ecommerce World.

Handheld Devices: Lot of Ecommerce websites are now moving to only mobile app mode. This makes the online store’s marketing and management strategy really interesting. With the rise of smart phones and tabs, the access channels have changed towards browsing and accessing the data and sites. People are buying through phones which will continue to increase in future as
predicted by lot of technology experts. Thus all existing & future online stores will have to focus on handheld devices big time.

Virtual Reality: Online world is virtual in nature i.e. people can’t see or feel the actual products. However, future belongs to virtual reality. Owners of online store will have to switch to a mode where they are able to show the products in 3D form which appears to be realistic to the buyer. Moreover, virtually there will be an option where users can try things like clothing and accessories on their body through virtual mode. The next generation online web-stores are bound to be dependent on such technological advantage.

Big Data: The online world will create a huge amount of data which will need storage and handling both. Ecommerce online store will have data produced in terms of transactions, products, trends, sales, etc. This will need to be analyzed on real time basis so that immediate implications can be driven and policies can be formulated. Big data handling will require storage
memory, computational aspect, analytical skills and human resource to manage the data.

Cloud Computing: The more the memory storage aspects will grow, the more consideration will be given to cloud computing. Instead of maintaining big servers physically within the organizations, virtual storage will be considered by various ecommerce online stores. This will help them in managing their data more aesthetically within the organizations.
